I would like to thank you for the help you had extended to me and to tell you that you have had an impact on my students' learning. My class uses the Wordly Wise activities on a weekly basis and my students had stated that they had learned new words they could use over the couple of months that they have been going through the activities.
As their teacher, I could tell that engagement in word acquisition has increased. I started off by completing the activities in class. Students have completed the activities at an even pace but as time progressed, students improved the rate of completion as well as their scores.
Upon doing quick interviews, more than a few students in each class had admitted that they had learned more words and sees the program as a way to increase their vocabulary and their word usage.”
You have helped me tremendously streamline how I conduct my classes. With a monitor to extend my view of the content I am teaching and another to show my students' faces, it allowed me to have a more personal interaction with my students. Without the monitor, I would have had to switch between the many windows that I have open while I am teaching.
Having the tiles representing my students who are attending the class, I am able to identify who asked a question or had issues and could not do the work. Addressing tech issues is something that is critical for a student who is struggling.
Remote learning has presented several challenges to us teachers. When you are working on a computer, you work with one screen and multiple tabs and windows. You toggle between windows to see who among your students are in the live Google meeting and the lesson you are presenting. On top of that, you also have to check attendance, respond to questions on the chat, respond to kids who are asking questions. That is a tough thing to do with only one screen.
A second screen expands my digital real estate and allows me to manage student interactions and the tasks required from the teacher teaching a class. It makes me more effective at my job and consequently rewards me with the satisfaction that I was able to get my lesson across to my students. You would certainly be helping me reach my students more effectively. Thank you in advance.
