A classroom library sets the scene for building a love of reading and learning. One of the biggest needs for my students is an updated classroom library with interested based material. As first graders ready to take on the world, my students have a wide range of interests! When a child is interested in something, they seek out material related to that interest and grow a love for reading. With varying interest comes a large variety in ability. When my students begin the school year, many are just beginning to put together letters and sounds, some are beginning to read stories, and others are flying through chapter books. A classroom library with engaging text for all of my students' abilities is such an important tool. I want students to be excited to read, no matter their ability level.
