  • The Right Book For The Class, The Right Class For The Book

    Funded Jan 14, 2009

Thank you very much for your generous donation! Now my students will have a much better understanding of a very important topic in US History. Frederick Douglass provides an excellent resource for helping students connect large issues. I am sure that my students will greatly appreciate these books. Once again, thank you very much”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Aladro

  • It's Common Sense!

    Funded Jan 1, 2009

Thank you very much for your very generous donation! With this class set of Common Sense my students will be able to explore the ideas behind the American Revolution. Thomas Paine makes straightforward arguments that are much easier for students to work with than the vague language of other sources. With the card stock and markers students will have the opportunity to pen their own pamphlets. Once again, thank you very much for helping my students explore the American Revolution”

    With gratitude,

  • Let Us See Too!

    Funded Jan 14, 2009

Thank you very much for your very generous donation! This document camera will give my students a whole new way to learn about US History. My students are usually much more interested in learning from each other than from the textbook. While professionally made maps and diagrams are great, students often fail to connect with them. Having students create maps and diagrams is a great way to keep interest levels high, but sharing their work is difficult. It is very hard to read a diagram on a piece of paper from twenty feet away. Now with the document camera, students will be able to go up and have their work projected in front of the whole class. I predict that this will greatly encourage students to try harder and learn more. Once again, thank you very much for your very generous donation”

  • A Class Set of Maus to Help Students Explore the Holocaust

    Funded Oct 4, 2008

Thank you very much for your extremely generous donation! The US History textbook we use has five paragraphs on the Holocaust. Generally, educational materials try to avoid complex subjects rather than risk being interesting. With this class set of Maus my students will have an accessible way to learn about the Holocaust. I am positive that they are going to be very strongly affected by Maus. Once again, thank you very much for your generous donation”

  • Ready, Set, Action!

    Funded Mar 7, 2008

Thank you very much! I am sure that my students will absolutely love having this camera to film the results of their hard work in class. I can not over-emphasize what an impact this camera will have on my students. After debates and speeches my students will be able to review themselves speaking in order to improve. Once again, thank you very much”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Aladro

  • Speaker of the House

    Funded Jan 3, 2008

Thank you very much for supporting my classroom! The podiums and document sorter well allow our class to run much better during exciting learning activities such as mock trial, Model UN, and classroom debates. Once again, thank you very much for your greatly appreciated support”

    With gratitude,

  • From Drab to Fab

    Funded Dec 2, 2007

Thank you very much for the supplies! Being in a new building has many advantages, but the sterile look of a new classroom is not on of them. These supplies will help my students learn and reflect on what their classmates have learned. Once again, thank you very much”

    With gratitude,
