Funded Nov 16, 2021You have all ensured that my students will be able to interact with the content they are learning in a new and interesting way. This GoPro is going to be used to channel my students interests in creating content similar to the style of their favorite streamers. I can't wait to share images with you all when we begin filming!”

Funded Sep 1, 2021This year I plan on creating a variety of materials that are individually designed to match my students interests. In the past I tried to use the technology given to us from the DOE but it lacked the ability to handle a lot of the initiative activities that were tailored to each individual child's unique interests. This prevented me from creating video reviews and the ability to use google meets with my camera on when too many students would join or while sharing the screen. While we still navigate education in this uncertain time clear instruction is even more important than ever!
The MacBook has already been used to engage students by utilizing the variety of feature that allow students to participate in each lesson while maintaining the 3 feet of physical distancing. The hardware on this computer is also given my class the opportunity to edit their work together to create interactive exemplars. I am also working towards getting a classroom camcorder so that my students will be able to create videos that are styled like a documentary. These documentaries will be used for students to review the content taught throughout each unit.
Your kindness has created more opportunities for each of my students and for that I can not thank you enough!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Gaita
Remote Learning Involves Technology and Access
Funded Sep 1, 2021First and foremost I want to thank you for the support you have given me and my students. Since receiving the materials from this project have been used to create interactive lessons while maintaining the safety precautions that have been put in place during the pandemic. My students are able to write on my smart board from their seats and engage in collaborative group work while maintaining a 3 foot physical distancing from one another.
This school year I am planning of using the technology from this project to create interactive platforms that will have engaging content for the students that will be created by both myself and my kids. My kids have shown interest in directing their own videos that can be used to review the science content (they promised to teach me because they "are experts at youtube")
Their excitement is exactly why projects like this and people like you are so important to creating quality education that is accessible.
Again thank you thank you thank you!”

Mr. Gaita

Funded Sep 30, 2020Words can not describe how grateful my students and I are towards the incredible kindness shown through your donations. Since the completion of this successful funding campaign we have used the materials to create a variety of different approaches to the science curriculum during this very different time in education.
Using the iPad and Apple Pen my students have been able to engage with the science curriculum in ways that would not have been possible without the donations of this amazing community. We have been able to produce videos that are edited by the students and then are used to help guide their fellow classmates through the complex concepts in Science. This has created an classroom that is continuously enforcing a student lead learning environment One other way the iPad and Apple Pen has been used is by the creation of tasks that are designed after video games. Students have been completing "Extra Credit Quests" with much enthusiasm because, according to my students, it doesn't look or feel like 'homework'".
Since transitioning from in person to remote to blended learning back to remote and finally back to somewhat in person we have also been able to use the iPad as a Smart Board over our Zoom classes.
Again thank you for you support and thank you on behalf of my students and their families.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Gaita
