  • From Cover to Cover: Empowering Young Readers with New Books

    Funded Apr 18, 2025

On behalf of our third-grade class, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for your generous support of our project, "From Cover to Cover: Empowering Young Readers with New Books."

Thanks to your kindness, our classroom library is now filled with exciting, engaging, and brand-new books, just waiting to be discovered by eager young readers. You've allowed my students to explore new worlds, spark their imaginations, and grow their love of reading every day.

The joy on their faces as I opened the boxes of books said it all; gasps, cheers, and big smiles filled the room. These books are more than just pages and covers; they are adventures, friendships, and learning moments that will stay with our students for years to come.

Thank you for believing in our class and for helping us build a stronger foundation for lifelong literacy.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Perlman

  • Building the Future: Constructing Creativity Through a LEGO-Based STEAM Journey

    Funded Apr 7, 2025

Thank you so much for your generous support of our "Building the Future: Constructing Creativity Through a LEGO-Based STEAM Journey" project! Your contribution has brought an incredible burst of excitement and creativity into our classroom.

When the students saw the LEGO sets for the first time, they were really excited. There were lots of smiles and curious looks as they started exploring the different pieces. They were surprised and happy to know the materials were all for them!

We got started right away by introducing the LEGO sets into our STEAM centers. Each center focuses on a different skill, like engineering challenges, creative building, and simple machines. Students rotate through the centers in small groups, working together to solve problems, design structures, and explore how things work. It's been a great way for them to apply what they're learning in science and math while also building collaboration and critical thinking skills.

Next, students will use what they've learned to design their own LEGO projects. They'll plan, test, and make changes to their designs, just like real engineers. They'll also have a chance to share their work with the class, helping to improve their communication and teamwork. It's exciting to see their ideas and creativity grow as they work through each project.

You've not only provided us with new tools, but you've also sparked a whole new level of creativity and curiosity in our classroom. Your support has helped us explore new ideas, tackle exciting challenges, and think outside the box in ways we never could have imagined before. We're truly grateful for your generosity and are so thankful to have had you be a part of this learning adventure with us!”

  • Fostering Student Expression Through Art: Empowering Diverse Voices

    Funded Mar 26, 2025

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks for your generous support of our "Fostering Student Expression Through Art: Empowering Diverse Voices" project! Thanks to your contributions, our classroom was filled with vibrant colored pencils, markers, and chalk pastels—supplies that have truly transformed our learning environment.

Since receiving these materials, my students have been more engaged and expressive than ever before. With the high-quality art supplies, they now have the tools to bring their ideas to life confidently and creatively. Whether illustrating scenes from a story we're reading, creating art for social studies projects (pictures attached), or exploring techniques in our dedicated art lessons, students are exploring deeper levels of visual communication and self-expression.

The chalk pastels in particular opened a door for students to try a new medium—many had never worked with them before. They've been fascinated by how blending and layering can create depth and emotion in their artwork. We've even tied this into cross-curricular learning, using art to represent historical events, cultural studies, and math patterns.

What's most rewarding is seeing students who were previously hesitant to participate in creative projects now diving in enthusiastically. These materials have helped level the playing field, giving every student, regardless of their prior experience or access at home, a chance to shine.

Your donation didn't just supply art tools—it inspired confidence, encouraged exploration, and enriched our entire classroom experience. Thank you for believing in our students and supporting their creative journeys.”

These items will make a big difference in our classroom, helping to create a more colorful, organized, and engaging learning environment. My students and I are already looking forward to putting them to good use in our daily activities and creative projects.

  • A Beautifully Colorful Classroom!

    Funded Aug 30, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to our classroom. The new coloring materials have been amazing! The first project we used our new markers for was our holiday Secret Santa cards. We do a Secret Santa in the classroom where students have to write three to five complete sentences showing encouragement or kindness toward their Secret Santa (another student in the class). The kiddos were also able to use a directed draw for the front of the card decorations. The students were so happy to have bright, vibrant colors on their cards!

My students cheered with excitement when they found out they would have new markers! It was amazing to see the joy on their faces! Something as "simple" as new markers really made my students truly happy. I am so grateful to provide my students with the World of Color markers, as well. This has made art differentiation incredible. Students are better able to express themselves during art activities.

Next steps, our classroom will have many projects completed with these markers. Student art work is much more colorful now. Students genuinely are excited to use the markers. We have used our new class markers for most of our holiday projects and they have turned out amazing! Thank you again for your generosity! We appreciate it more than words can describe!”

  • What's Up DOC? We'd LOVE an ELMO!

    Funded Jan 8, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donation. I am blown away! The ELMO document camera will be used in my classroom to share student work, decompose various math problems, and to be used as a device to spark conversations. For example, being able to display specific area and perimeter problems for the whole class to see has been awesome! I am now able to have all students view the problems with ease as well as have the students come share their work with the rest of their peers. This has really helped drive deep rooted mathematical conversations. The ELMO has become a go-to technological device in my classroom. We now have more flexibility, accessibility, and visibility during lessons due to having an ELMO document camera.

For my students, the most exciting aspect of the ELMO is the ability to project their work. They love seeing their work jumbo size! My students also love that the ELMO turns the regular whiteboard into a digital one. This is super cool and expands the horizons of the technological capability that we now have access to in the classroom.

I have one student in particular who loves to display his work on the ELMO. My student writes pretty tiny and when he is able to see his work jumbo size, he becomes more confident and proud of his work. He has opened up and has become one of my more frequent volunteers because he is so excited to use the ELMO to display his work.

This ELMO has really changed the way I teach and the way my students are able to learn. One of my most favorite things about it is that my students are able to clearly explain their reasoning with the whole class while still being able to make mistakes and feel okay about it because we work through it all together. Thank you again! We love our ELMO!”

  • STEM Is Inspiring!

    Funded Nov 15, 2018

This project has been an absolute delight for the students in my class. My students are using all of the materials to the greatest extent. In particular, the Magna Tiles are a fan favorite. I have seen a great deal of collaboration blossom in my classroom due to the new STEM resources. Also, students are communicating their ideas more clearly while participating in the building process of the Chain Reaction Set. Seeing the students work together to problem solve is also a huge impact that the resources have created.

When my students first saw the materials, they were beyond excited! I had a communal 'gasp!' after I explained each of the kits one by one. I was so grateful to have seen these reactions and it's such a rewarding feeling to know that the students are genuinely excited about the new resources that were donated to our classroom. All of my students were intrigued by at least two of the kits that were donated to our class. Some students were even saying, "I can't wait to build the Zoob Racerz car!" This excitement is priceless.

Currently, in Science, my students working on animal adaptations and surviving in different habitats. We will be creating our own biomes and explaining why each habitat is important for certain animals to survive. We have also been focusing on adaptations and how that helps specific animals survive in their specific habitats. This topic will lead into the student's Toastmasters speeches which we are currently in the process of writing as well.

Thank you donors for choosing to fund my project! My students and I are very appreciative!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Perlman
