A Beautifully Colorful Classroom!
Funded Aug 30, 2022Thank you so much for donating to our classroom. The new coloring materials have been amazing! The first project we used our new markers for was our holiday Secret Santa cards. We do a Secret Santa in the classroom where students have to write three to five complete sentences showing encouragement or kindness toward their Secret Santa (another student in the class). The kiddos were also able to use a directed draw for the front of the card decorations. The students were so happy to have bright, vibrant colors on their cards!
My students cheered with excitement when they found out they would have new markers! It was amazing to see the joy on their faces! Something as "simple" as new markers really made my students truly happy. I am so grateful to provide my students with the World of Color markers, as well. This has made art differentiation incredible. Students are better able to express themselves during art activities.
Next steps, our classroom will have many projects completed with these markers. Student art work is much more colorful now. Students genuinely are excited to use the markers. We have used our new class markers for most of our holiday projects and they have turned out amazing! Thank you again for your generosity! We appreciate it more than words can describe!”

What's Up DOC? We'd LOVE an ELMO!
Funded Jan 8, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donation. I am blown away! The ELMO document camera will be used in my classroom to share student work, decompose various math problems, and to be used as a device to spark conversations. For example, being able to display specific area and perimeter problems for the whole class to see has been awesome! I am now able to have all students view the problems with ease as well as have the students come share their work with the rest of their peers. This has really helped drive deep rooted mathematical conversations. The ELMO has become a go-to technological device in my classroom. We now have more flexibility, accessibility, and visibility during lessons due to having an ELMO document camera.
For my students, the most exciting aspect of the ELMO is the ability to project their work. They love seeing their work jumbo size! My students also love that the ELMO turns the regular whiteboard into a digital one. This is super cool and expands the horizons of the technological capability that we now have access to in the classroom.
I have one student in particular who loves to display his work on the ELMO. My student writes pretty tiny and when he is able to see his work jumbo size, he becomes more confident and proud of his work. He has opened up and has become one of my more frequent volunteers because he is so excited to use the ELMO to display his work.
This ELMO has really changed the way I teach and the way my students are able to learn. One of my most favorite things about it is that my students are able to clearly explain their reasoning with the whole class while still being able to make mistakes and feel okay about it because we work through it all together. Thank you again! We love our ELMO!”

This classroom project was brought to life by An anonymous classroom supporter and 8 other donors.STEM Is Inspiring!
Funded Nov 15, 2018This project has been an absolute delight for the students in my class. My students are using all of the materials to the greatest extent. In particular, the Magna Tiles are a fan favorite. I have seen a great deal of collaboration blossom in my classroom due to the new STEM resources. Also, students are communicating their ideas more clearly while participating in the building process of the Chain Reaction Set. Seeing the students work together to problem solve is also a huge impact that the resources have created.
When my students first saw the materials, they were beyond excited! I had a communal 'gasp!' after I explained each of the kits one by one. I was so grateful to have seen these reactions and it's such a rewarding feeling to know that the students are genuinely excited about the new resources that were donated to our classroom. All of my students were intrigued by at least two of the kits that were donated to our class. Some students were even saying, "I can't wait to build the Zoob Racerz car!" This excitement is priceless.
Currently, in Science, my students working on animal adaptations and surviving in different habitats. We will be creating our own biomes and explaining why each habitat is important for certain animals to survive. We have also been focusing on adaptations and how that helps specific animals survive in their specific habitats. This topic will lead into the student's Toastmasters speeches which we are currently in the process of writing as well.
Thank you donors for choosing to fund my project! My students and I are very appreciative!”
