  Once again thank you so much for donating to our scholars. It means so much to us that you picked us to donate.

  We really do not have a technology budget and our computers are almost ten years old. We really work hard to maintain them, however kids you know, break and no matter how much you try to teach them about respect for property and gift giving, it is hard.

  However, the products you donated to us allowed me to have the opportunity to share about how important it is to take care of what is given to us. They loved the share their thoughts and coding steps on the dry erase board and use the mice to start building their coding ideas for their games.

  Many of our scholars live in low income areas or in shelters. So having a computer or devices to do their work is limited. So when they know they have computer lab or coding class or stem they get really excited and wonder what will be their new or next project. I love it when they say "Ms. B. this was so much easier than using that other mouse" or " Ms. B. did you see how my algorithm is now working" . I love that they use these computer terms. They are building their math, reading and technology terms all rolled into one.

• Coding is Amazing

  First, thank you so much for your donation to the scholars of 106! These books will train the scholars how to code, create games and learn how to work in teams to work on group projects. This year is my first year and I needed more support on how to assist students in math and make our school more green friendly.

  Words cannot express the joy my scholars had when the books arrived. Jumping up and down. Shouting "I'm first! I want to make a game." " I want to know more about scratch!"

• Reading and Artistic Nook

  We are truly blessed to have amazing people like you on our side. The students were over joyed when they got to see their bean bag chairs, file sorters, and art supplies. It has been such blessing having the supplies you have donated to our class. The students love having their own personal corner to read. We are at the beginning stagings of our art nook but we will definitely get it done soon. The children, educational assistants and myself were beyond shock that our project was funded so quickly!!!!!! Thank you once again!”
