  • Hip Hip Hooray For Floor Play

    Funded Jan 3, 2011

I cannot adequately express the joy that your kind donation has brought to my room. The first day that the students saw the carpet I could not get them to leave the floor play area. They wanted to jump, run and play on it all day!

The carpet has had a great impact on both the classroom environment and on the development of the students. We use it not only for floor play but also for circle time and music and movement. The resource you have provided has helped to enhance all of these activities and in the growth of the students. It has directly impacted language skills, social skills and pretend play skills. In addition, it has helped make an already joyful classroom experience even more so.

It is because of generous donations like yours that we are able to provide our students with best teaching practices and a life long joy of learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Schultz

  • Exploring Individual Creativity

    Funded Dec 28, 2010

Thank you for your generous donation. The materials have had a tremendous impact on the growth of the students in my classroom. They use the paper frequently to independently explore their creativity, which is a wonderful accomplishment for young, atypical learners. It has also helped in expanding upon expressive language skills as some of the students try to label what they have painted. Finally, you can see the joy on the face of the students as they paint and when their artwork is displayed in the classroom. Most importantly, the students have a sense of ownership because this is something they have created by themselves.

It is because of people like you we are able to provide our students with the resources necessary for their developmental growth. It is my hope to see all of my students move on to less restrictive environments and we can best achieve this by investing in resources that move them towards greater independence.

Thank you for helping move these precious children one step closer to this goal.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Schultz

I have a small class of very young learners. All of my students are on the autism spectrum or present with speech & language delays. Although they are young and have their challenges, they are also very bright and capable of accomplishing so much. They are all very unique but they also have a great deal in common. Many students enjoy looking at books and are even starting to decode words. All of my students enjoy dancing, cause & effect and sensory play. With your help and support, I know that they can reach their potential.
