Magical Word Mapping Skills
Funded Mar 15, 2023Our children are excited about the magnetic letters donated. The impact on their learning/acquisition of the target skills has been significant. Having students with a diversity of learning needs and modalities, having these at hand makes a difference in identifying reading skills such as identifying phonemes, BME sounds, building words with CVC/CVCV, ..... , segmenting words, Building sentences and then writing them. Using these to build fundamental HFW through word mapping on a mat, then transferring this via verbal and written formats.
All the acquired skills, are later transferred to fluency in reading at grade level and beyond. Facilitating the children with the opportunity to build words within the text prior to the reading of such. Which impacts their fluency at the time they engage in the reading of the same. Later using those words to write about the story and demonstrate comprehension of what they have read with ease. This is portion of reading that many struggle with due to poor phoneme, phonological awareness and other skills that are significant for fluency. Thanks to all of you, our class has improved and grown as fluent readers.”

KOW POW! We Now Have Readers In Our Class!
Funded Feb 26, 2023Words are not enough to express our gratitude, I think the pictures will tell the story on its own. As you notice the children engaging with the materials provided. Being able to use safe tools and keeping them protected for years to come is so important. It is hard to acquire the Technology Donors like you have provided us with. Now we have these wonderful cases to protect them from breaking and loosing that priveledge that we are thankful. You are playing a big role in the lives of these young students as they loose fear to use real life tools and not get introuble for breaking them. In the past they were scared the tablets would fall , get scratched ,etc. Now they feel the freedom of using them and excited to have these wonderful cases that allow them to feel at ease about them breaking in their tiny hands. THANK YOU!”

Space is the Limit for ALL!
Funded Oct 26, 2021The children have just been at a daze as they engaged in the projects final portion. This was to have learn how to use the pens as they created diverse pieces of their prototype rocket. Although, I have only two pens that are 3D printing, we have taken turns and shared with each other the outcomes. The students, looked forward on a daily basis to making one more piece of their rocket. We are still working on it but loving it. I will be sharing pictures of them engaged in the activity. They love being able to use the pen and how the magical pen creates what their imagination has been creating. Thank you so much for making this feasible.”

Enhancing Our Lego Maker Center
Funded Sep 2, 2021When the children saw the boxes and I opened them, their eyes widened and they were shouting out questions like " are those Legos for us"? their voice tones were of excitement and surprise. I hears a great amount of "YEAH"! from many if not all. they whispered to each other "that is for us"! /"Did you see that"!/ "I can't wait to go there"! Words are not enough to express all the emotions they had and their faces.
The children are just loving it. They have built diverse settings for their stories, created many models of different buildings, vehicles, and more. There is enough for them to use with their imagination of how to build a numerous of things.
We are now working on Space and will be creating a diversity of Rocket models that will allow for human tourism into space. The students will first illustrate the model on paper, then create their Lego model and finally with a future project I am posting make a 3D model of their rocket using a 3D Printing Pen. Once again, we are very appreciative of your donations and making this happen.”

21st Century Reading/Listening Center
Funded Oct 9, 2019Our class was sooooo happy when they saw the new Kindles you donated. We are eager to start using them . They are beautiful! It allows for many of my students to hold in their hand a piece of technology that they would otherwise not have due to home and financial settings. In addition, the ESOL students will build vocabulary using the audio and pictures they see in the books. Therefore , relating words through visual discrimination and auditory processing. We are just waiting to acquire the wireless Bluetooth Headphones to start using them. They will be able to use all their learning styles with this Kindle. There is enough for each student in a Reading group and that eliminates arguments. It also allows for differentiated instruction through the stories and skills they will demonstrate after using them. I will post a picture for you to see them using these amazing Kindles once we get the headphones. We are praying soon!”
