Greenleaf is a TK-8 school in the heart of East Oakland. Our student population is 82% Latino and 15% African American and a growing number of students from Southeast Asia and the Middle East. 98% of our students identify as low income (from the current SPF snapshot). Our school started a Dual Language program in 2017. As students progress through the grades and arrive in my 7th and 8th grade science classes they will show cross-cultural competency, the ability to interact with a variety of people, across cultural and linguistic boundaries, and collaborate successfully. They will graduate proficient in both languages, and they will also engage in multiple leadership opportunities each year that will support them becoming a social change agent in our society.
