  • UUUU! Sand and Bugs!

    Funded Oct 21, 2021

Thank you all for your generous donations to make our UUUU! Sand and bugs supply an achievement, we are more engaged and interested. The students are using language to make bug noises and learning to share using the sand/water table. We have already used to it to "wash clothes" in our clothing study unit. We are also learning how to create sandcastles and share materials.

The students struggle to interact with materials they haven't encountered before, so the more they are able to practice and experience materials the better! Sand and bugs are interesting and engaging that the students immediately showed interest and interacted with them.

Our new sand table is the hit of the class, and everybody wants to play there. We had been lacking basic materials to teach cause and effect, exploration, and discovery, but it is no longer lacking. They are enjoying the discovery center and look forward to the center.

Again, we all appreciate your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Vargas

Many of these sand supplies, bubbles and train are interesting and engaging that the students immediately showed interest and interacted with them.

Our outdoor/indoor had been lacking basic materials to teach cause and effect, exploration, and discovery, but it is no longer lacking.

  • Pet Study Fun

    Funded May 6, 2019

Thank you so much for your contributions! My students will strive in different areas in our classroom and will engage in real life scenarios to better navigate their home life and better equipe them with life long lessons. I am truly grateful.

You are not only helping those students that I currently have but you are helping my future students as well. Having students who are severely impacted with Autism and giving them resources to help them navigate their surrounding is a true benefit for them. Again thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Vargas

  • Cozy Area

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you all for your donations towards our comfortable library couch!

The couch is THE favorite spot in our classroom library. The students are able to share the space and practice handling books and looking at books with a classmate. These skills will be critical for them for their entire education!

The library has never been as popular as it has been this year. The couch helps it be inviting and cozy for students to engage with books and listen to stories.

Thank you again for your support. My students and I appreciate it!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Vargas

This comfy couch will go into our classroom library. As the students are learning to handle and look through books appropriately, they would have a nice place to sit down that isn't the floor! Every student spends part of their day in our classroom library and adding this couch to it will make it a comfy spot for years to come. While my students struggle with a lot of social and language skills, many have a real strength in exploring and looking at books. Each has their favorite. The library is an area of the classroom that some students have the potential to show their major strengths and I want it to be seen as important of an area as it is!
