Learning Together!
Funded Feb 9, 2022Thank you so much for coming through! The second half of the school year is off and running, and I am so excited to have these materials and be fully stocked to make sure that we can continue to become readers, writers and thinkers who "can change the world with our own two hands!"”

Funded Aug 12, 2021We're doing it! The first half of the 2021-2022 has come to a close and we are putting in the time and preparing lessons and activities to welcome our learners back for 2022! Having these materials not only helped us academically but helped us practice what it looks like to be responsible with our materials! Whether it was the zipper pouches or something as small as the glue sticks, I was so proud of the way students learned to take responsibility for their materials so we could use them to learn all year long! After a year learning on the computer, or being home, it has been such a blessing to have materials to make this year hands on for my students! Thank you again for your support, I'm so excited to see what the second half of this year will hold!”

Funded Feb 24, 2021Another year is off and running, but first we look back at the impact from last year! This project of providing students with decodable readers was foundational in getting students excited about becoming readers by providing them with materials that were their own, and that they were capable of reading independently! The look on their faces was absolutely priceless as I would tell students that it was time to take out their readers! I could tell from their eagerness, their smiles and their strides the pride that they felt as they were going to grab books of their own, turning to pages and beginning to meaningfully read just like they'd seen their siblings do all school year long. Thank you for your support in making this happen, and looking forward to continuing to grow readers and writers in 2022!”

Funded Oct 22, 2020It took a while but we eventually made it to hybrid! By the end I had seven students attending in person two days a week! It wasn't easy or pretty in any way shape or form, but having some of the students in person was so beneficial for them both academically and socially! They were able to connect with one another, navigate building relationships, and get the real time feedback, assistance, and hands on practice that really drives learning in Kindergarten!
Thank you so so much for helping to provide the materials to make our hybrid learning a reality! We could not have done it without you!”

Funded Oct 12, 2020We love our soccer balls! In the midst of a pandemic, having soccer has been a way for us to come together as a class and become "a team" despite not actually being together with one another. Our weekly workouts have given us the chance to learn something new together, experience growth mindset, and practice the self-control of not touching the balls with our hands!
I love seeing the joy in their faces, and the way they light up as they either figure out how to do a move that they might have struggled with before, or when they come up with a move of their own! There are some students who I struggle to keep engaged throughout the week, or who might not participate when its phonics or math, but as soon as I say soccer, they're right there with their balls.
Thank you for being a part of our team!”

Distance Learning for Little Learners!
Funded Aug 11, 2020It has been quite the adventure of a year! Teaching Kindergarten virtually is something, but let me say that your generosity has made it so much easier! Their notebooks, white boards and writing folders are at the heart of all we do. I can honestly say that despite all of the challenges our kids are learning! They have been learning their letters, reading, spelling words and telling stories! I tell them all the time that I am so incredibly proud of them and all the progress that they have made this school year.
So thank you again for your generosity and partnering with our class!”

Funded Dec 18, 2019As usual I am so grateful for all of your support! In my time at Locke family engagement days were paramount to the work and the culture that we set. Your support of events like these helped us to create a warm culture around literacy and one that created memories for children and their families! Pajama Parent Read Aloud Day was truly one of joy for both students and all who it attended! Children read, crafted, and enjoyed some movies and snacks! They took pictures, won prizes, and hopefully will continue their love of literacy during trying times like these!”

Learning on Our Level!
Funded Oct 29, 2019Your support is unwavering! While not the most glitzy and glamorous of projects, this project truly does make an impact on our students each and every day! Whether it is the Ziploc bags that have held their independent reading books, the cardstock that has made their sight word cards, or the ink that has helped print out word walls, bookmarks or bulletin boards, our kids are becoming better readers because of the materials purchased! It is such a blessing to know that we have faithful supporters who are ready and willing to come to our aid and help grow our students into the leaders of tomorrow!”

Anyone Can Author!
Funded Mar 4, 2019Once again, thank you, thank you, thank you! We are so grateful for your support! Anyone Can Author has been a true success for our students, showing them that if other people can write, then they can too! Our little leaders have loved diving into the different texts, exploring the power of words and the stories that each of the authors has to tell!
From there our students have tried on their own hats as writers, some telling their own stories, others writing about animals or food, but each knowing that they have thoughts worth sharing!
We are so grateful for your support and look forward to continue to grow ourselves both as readers and writers!”

Funded Nov 29, 2018Once again, thank you, thank you, thank you for all your support on this project! Our third graders have loved every title added to their library thus far! They've used the titles to explore far off places, and learn about ordinary people who became difference makers in society!
In so many ways these books have become their home. On the darkest and most stressful of days, students have been enable to enjoy the solace of these books to read together in groups, at a special table with the teacher, or alone at their desk, to end their day on a high note!
We are all so grateful for your generosity and look forward to the impact that our students get to make as a result of having read, relaxed, and been inspired!”

Ms. Fox
