Closing the Gap
Funded May 15, 2021My students were so delighted when I shared the books with them. All of them had just been tested and had improved on their reading levels. They were just so happy to be able to read books on a higher level than they were used to! Moreover the thought of chapter books and book clubs, even though we are close to the end of the year, is so exciting for my in person students.
I am so thankful for the scholastic math and reading magazines. The skills and resources in these materials is so valuable to closing the gaps that my students have experienced due to the pandemic. These resources will reinforce the focus standards that will prepare them for the forth grade.
Thank you for your generosity and kindness to my students!”

Funded Aug 24, 2019It is with utmost gratitude that I write this letter. Since the school year began, my class has been focused on maximizing every learning opportunity. My students are in the routines and our class is synchronizing well.
Because of your generous donations, we have been able to solidify our math learning stations. You have provided many of the resources we needed to make our station time run smoothly and purposefully.
In literacy, you have gifted us with the tools to collaboratively create anchor charts so that the students could actively reference when ever they need.Furthermore we now have tools to review concepts in specific subject areas.
While the materials and games have been a visible blessing to our class, the greatest treasure is how the collaboration and student initiative has improved. My students are communicating, sharing, giving positive feedback to each other all while playing games and learning concepts. Thank you for investing in their education, but most of all, thank you for investing in my students.”

Funded Nov 1, 2017Because of your generous giving we are now able to have daily math centers as part of our instruction time. The students look forward to these centers everyday as they get to explore and practice the concepts we are learning with every math unit. There is quit a bit of chatter as students discuss how they are arriving at their outcomes. The active math talk makes me proud to know that they are getting a concrete grasp of the lessons we are learning. Students are working cooperatively and are so excited about problem solving, addition and subtraction. I am most excited about the sense of community that we are developing as students turn take, help eachother unpack problems and explain how they are arriving at their answers.
All of this would not be possible had it not been for your thoughtful and generous giving. So from the bottom of my heart I thank you for being a part of my classroom community and for making my Learners excited about all the mathematical possibilities in our classroom.
Thank you”

Navigating Through Social Studies and Science
Funded Sep 4, 2017Your generous giving has made our Social Studies and Science lessons so much more meaningful. My students are very engaged with their new readers and look forward to the articles and activities they provide. They are excited that you thought of their learning and were invested in their academic growth. In Science, we have been exploring plants and what they need to survive. Our science readers expose the students to relevant articles that expose them to trees and plants across the United States. In Social Studies our unit focuses on maps. This week we were able to learn about map features and complete some fun activities. Thanks to you we can be successful in learning our curriculum unit content in an exciting and engaging way!!”
