  • It's Only Logical

    Funded Jan 8, 2025

I am so excited for this opportunity to challenge my students through the use of Mondrian Blocks! These logic puzzles will help my student improve focus and concentration as well as develop their problem solving skills. I am forever grateful to donors like you who rally behind teachers like me! You make it possible for me to give students exposure to experiences beyond the pages of a text book.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cruz

  • S.T.I.L.E. Project

    Funded Apr 1, 2024

The students are so excited to begin our project about life cycles. They are really looking forward to planting seeds and watching them grow. The real time real life, hands on experience will help them better comprehend the process it takes to get food on our tables. This project gives them an opportunity to apply some of the concepts they have already learned, such as how to write an informative paragraph about a topic. Moreover the project will help them make new connections to new concepts such as in math when they have to measure the volume and capacity of containers as they prepare to plant seeds and transplant seedlings. We are all looking forward to working on the project that was made possible by your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cruz

  • Chew and Do!

    Funded Jan 21, 2024

I can't thank you enough for all the wonderful snacks that we were able to get for our class. Not only were we able to have snacks for our class, we were able to share our goodies with five other classrooms. All the students were so grateful to see the box of snacks as they walked into the classroom this morning! Unboxing is still my favorite part of a project!

Knowing that, as a teacher, I don't have to stress about being able to afford the weekly purchase of snacks for hungry students. I am truly grateful for your continued support.”

  • I See Paris, I See France, Nothing Like Clean Underpants!

    Funded Nov 4, 2023

Our students were elated when we unboxed your generous gifts. They immediately celebrated and many students automatically grabbed on to the packs of socks and hugged them!

The students of Fort Hill were deeply touched. Some students immediately requested a pair socks as a reward today, which is telling of how desperately these items were needed.

Because of you, our school now has a supply of much needed socks and underwear, especially as the cold weather is setting in. Giving them this small security of warm feet and clean under garments makes all the difference our students' ability to put the focus on learning! I am forever grateful that you partnered with me to make this possible for so many students.”

  • Little Baskets, Big Difference

    Funded Aug 27, 2023

Our library and our classroom have recieved a major upgrade with your generous gift of the baskets. The students are very happy to be able to access baskets that are intact rather than fearing being injured by baskets that were broken. Book shopping on Friday afternoons is a breeze and a pleasure! My students enjoy plopping down on a bean bag to enjoy a good book in our library space. The simple organization makes the room feel less chaotic and this in turn impacts the students ability to regulate themselves. The baskets have definitely made an impact.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cruz

  • The Classroom Garden

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Your generosity has sparked such enthusiasm! We applied our understanding of computational thinking to collaborate and build our green house. Each child is excited to plant a seed and nurture it. Our green house affords us the luxury of planting our seeds even in the winter. Not only are we learning about life cycles, but through your gifts we are becoming efficient problem solvers, collaborators and nature lovers! Thank you for believing in us and giving us the opportunity to grow as learners and as a family!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cruz

  • Love is in the Hair!

    Funded Feb 22, 2023

Your generosity has literally brought many smiles to our school community! Our girls are off to a great start. Having hair done brings a new level of self confidence and pride! Confident girls are girs who impact the world around them. These hair care supplies are allowing us to give much needed personal care to our girls who need it most. The boost in confidence is a boost in their ability to focus on learning! Not to mention our dads are grateful that their girls hair is one less thing to worry about. Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cruz

  • Reading Is Fundamental

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

Your generous donations have made such a difference in learning groups and partnerships for my Multi Language Learners. They are becoming more independent and are now able to direct themselves in partnerships. The students are making good use of the tools that we received. The vowel flashcards as well as the word family tasks are helping students strengthen their phonics and their vocabulary. They play games which support the phonics intervention that many of them still need.

Thank you again for making our learning experiences meaningful.”

  • Mathematical Minds

    Funded Sep 6, 2022

The unboxing of the materials continues to be one of my favorite things to do with the students. The amazement in their eyes makes it all worth it!

Since receiving our math materials, we have been able to set up our engaging math centers. Thanks to your generosity, students have been gaining the much needed exposure and practice of the concepts we are learning. Students have been so excited to get to center time!

The hands on engagement has been allowing students to gain the conceptual understanding that helps them apply their knowledge. This particular group of students comes with an interesting set of social emotional needs. The math manipulatives allows us to have groups where students are learning to communicate with one another in a responsible and mathematical way! They are turn taking and learning to treat materials with respect and care.

You have truly made our math block more interesting and fun!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cruz

  • Magnetic Moments

    Funded Sep 5, 2022

The unboxing of the supplies was such a beautiful moment. My students were not only excited but were in awe that people they didn't know were so willing to give such wonderful products to our classroom. There were "yays" "oohs" and "aahs" as we lifted each item from the boxes.

My students curiosity was awakened and they can't wait to use each product as the year progresses. We are currently establishing routines so we have not gotten to perform any experiments as yet. However each child has expressed so much anticipation and eagerness in using each and every item.

Because of your generosity, we will be able to start our "Forces and Motion" unit successfully. Thank you for every you have done!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cruz
