Wowowowow! Again I am so happy that there are really great and generous peeps out there that want to support public education art projects! You all rule!

This project is going to capture some kids and it will instill in themselves a confidence in their abilities that they never knew they could feel.”

  • Monoprinting...Creating Art with Found Objects and Photographs!

    Funded Aug 27, 2024

I am blown away by your generosity and thoughtfulness. Thank you for being such wonderful people that see the needs of our schools and actively responds to those needs.

I am so excited to do this project with my students and for you to see the results. Home is such a unique place for us all and I am interested to see how each student represents their home with the colors they choose and of course the photograph of their home.

Very, very excited to share some of the final images with you!!! Thank you so, so much, from the bottom of my heart!

    You all rock!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hullinger

  • Charcoal Portraits

    Funded Jun 22, 2022

Thank you soooo very much for supporting my classroom project! First semester art students, mostly 9th graders, had the opportunity to choose a person they would use for their portrait. They could choose anyone as long as it was a human being and also they needed a clear b/w picture from which to work.

The main focus for the project was to learn about proportions and value, which is shading. Students used the erasers for creating the lighter values and the charcoal to add in the darker values and details.

The process for this project is super fun and physical. Kids are standing, moving, dumping their charcoal dust outside, measuring, and of course creating. It is quite literally one of the more wide-reaching, successful art projects. The light in their eyes tends to brighten and kids find great success with this.

Charcoal is quite messy so it is fun for the kids but can be extremely stressful as a teacher if you don't lay down clear parameters and instruction. Check out the photos...you will be amazed!!! Thanks again....truly!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hullinger

Thank you for being a light! Thank you for looking for ways to show you care.

These materials are specifically for students to use at home. Each student will receive a pencil set, a sheet of watercolor paper, and a marker to take home during distance learning. The amazing thing about funding this project is that more than 1/2 of the students at our high school are enrolled in the free/reduced lunch program, so you would be really enhancing their art experience! By providing these materials, art students won't be marginalized for not having the resources to purchase these products. Everyone will have the opportunity to achieve at the same rate. In addition, everyone's art will have a similar look in terms of media and no one will be able to tell who the kids are that have money and those that don't. The playing field, so to speak, would be even.
