My class is one of the 5 inaugural first grade classes at a brand new school. Our school is beautiful and peaceful. It is the most amazing class I have ever had at the most amazing place I have ever worked during my 18 year career as a teacher. My students are incredibly bright and busy and they LOVE to practice yoga. They come in each morning excited and ready to begin with a practice that improves each day. My awesome principal agreed that yoga is a perfectly acceptable way to provide Physical Education and supports my students' yoga practice and celebrates their improvement. Throughout the day my busiest students find the need to use their yoga practice to refocus their energy and hold their concentration. They are learning to focus their energy and concentrate on small academic improvements each hour of each day.
