• Back to School - 2020 Style!

  Perfect timing since this week is Thanksgiving. This project will allow children to express themselves with color while being safe in the classroom. Our entire school will benefit from this project!

  Some of our students cannot afford basic supplies such as crayons. So this will put a smile on their face. Happy Thanksgiving! Stay healthy & positive.”

• Sensory Processing Project!

• Love for Literacy!

  Once again, I am blown away by the generosity of my family, friends, colleagues and people I don't even know. Upon return from Spring Break, my students will be so excited to know they are getting new games and resources for our classroom.

  Every year, I ask my students what their favorite part of first grade was. The number 1 answer is always literacy centers. Each year, I incorporate fundamental phonics and comprehension skills through differentiated choices into Literacy Centers. The items in this project will go directly into these centers, giving my students more choice and more options for differentiation.

• Printer Needed for Title I Classroom

  Thank you to all the people who have donated to this project. It was a small project but has made a big impact to our classroom.

  Students can print certificates showing pride in their work and themselves. I can make adjustments to lessons very quickly. For example, if a student decides that they would like to use a different graphic organizer I can quickly print one out for him/her.

  My students want to know all about the printer. They love to get things from the printer to give to me. My students are so grateful as am I for this printer.”

• Flex Seating for First Graders

  On behalf of my students, I have to say how grateful I am to have been fully funded for a second time. The generosity of my friends, family and complete strangers has astounded me.

  My friends and family are always listening to me talk about my students' celebrations and the struggles as well. They always wonder how they can help, and this was their answer. However, the kindness of strangers almost brought me to tears. How wonderful to know that people just want to spread good and pay it forward.

  We use the materials from this project for flexible seating. Students are free to choose where and how they sit. I am able to allow students who feel they need extra help with the day's skill can come sit at the flex seating table and work together. Two different students can sit on the bright green couch each day. Every student and adult that comes into my classroom always compliment the couch. The students enjoy it every day.

• iPad = iCan

  I'd like to sincerely thank all of the people who donated to this project. My family, friends and the generous humans at Ripple. Without Ripple's donation, I do not think fulfilling this project would have been possible. It was truly an incredible feeling to have learned that Ripple fulfilled every single project on Donors Choose, including mine.

  Coming from a small school of 300 students, whom at least 70% of is low income, we do not get resources like this too often. We do what we can with our budget and the help of local politicians, but it is a timely process and always never enough. My current students, future students and myself are truly grateful for these iPads on which we will learn, collaborate and grow with.”
