Buzzing About Books!

As soon as the books arrived the students were excited. I was excited as well because they are learning about comparing and contrasting this week. I always teach the kids a lesson using our textbooks. Then reinforce the lesson using another story from the book. My students receiving the books give them different genres to read about. They were able to practice comparing and contrasting the characters in the stories. It was super exciting for them to be able to pick a story of their choice. This is a way that I can help differentiate my instruction. The beauty of the lesson was some students picking books about animals, realistic fiction, and fantasy stories.

If you were to ever visit my classroom, you will see the students enjoying their reading centers on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The students are happy to have books that they can read on their level. Before I received these books, I did not have any level one books. Now I will be able satisfy every eager reader to come.”
