Being a product of the New York inner city Public School system myself, I felt indebted to give back to our inner city youth. But very shortly after being in the classroom, I quickly realized that it is a true honor to serve my community in this capacity as educator and gatekeeper to the world for these amazing students. I am currently teaching in what is commonly known as a "Title 1 school", our student body is 94% eligible to receive free lunch. Spanish Harlem is one of the few remaining quintessential melting-pot communities in New York City. Offering a rich diversity of cultures, my students bring so much to the table.
