My students have a natural need to move through the day. We use movement as much as we can through the day, but having a personal moving seat option will allow students to focus on the academic task they are working on. My students need different seating options that welcome free movement through the school day. Giving my students the ongoing option to "wiggle" or move while working will help them through the school day. "Movement has been shown by educational, cognitive, psychological, medical, and behavioral research to be one of the best ways to get all children - neurotypical and neurodiverse (special needs) children alike - to gain control over their behavior and to engage with and retain what is being taught to them."
