Being a part of a special program within an urban high school that focuses on Digital Graphics and Gaming, I have had the opportunity to work with the most ambitious and motivated students I have had in my entire 16 year teaching career. Several of these students are members of our Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) student organization.
My students compete in a variety of technology, business, and presentation competitions through FBLA. We have students who compete in 3D Animation, Digital Video Production, Impromptu Speaking, and Broadcast Journalism. These types of competitive events require specialized technological equipment. Many times we do not have the right equipment to do a high quality project. Since our students are competing with over 1,000 others in the state for FBLA, I believe that it is necessary to get them on an equal playing field.
The digital tablets enable the students to create original storyboards with characters and elements that can be brought to life in animations. The video camera, the microphones, and green screen will help with our digital video productions and speaking categories.
The wireless mouses, animation studio, and other peripherals will complement the requested equipment and enable students to create their projects with ease.
