Board Games
Funded Feb 15, 2023Thank you so much for your generous donation! We appreciate having these games for days when it's too cold to go outside for recess. These games were all chosen by students, and I am sure that they will be so excited to play them in the future! Thank you again!”

What's the Point of Math?
Funded Aug 13, 2021Thank you so much for the picture books for math! These books have been great for students to engage more with math!
Some students love to pick up a book during advisory to learn a little more about math. We've used some of the books to enhance our understanding of mathematical concepts, such as circumference and pi. In each unit, we spend a day looking at the picture books and writing about the book. We discuss how it fits into 7th grade math.
We can't wait to explore the books more next year especially the books that connect math with social and emotional learning!”

Funded Sep 23, 2021Thank you so much for all of the books and SEL journals. Students really were able to practice and reflect on various social and emotional skills. Students used the journals to reflect on their day, write about strategies to help them process and manage emotions, and describe situations that they experience that are connected to social and emotional learning.
Thank you so much for the read aloud books. Students loved having a chance to read different books that they could learn about different emotions and situations.
The students particularly liked the book: Anxiety Relief for Teens: Essential CBT Skills and Mindfulness Practices to Overcome Anxiety and Stress. This gave them lots of strategies to help with the stress of 7th grade.”

Funded Oct 8, 2020Wow! Having this technology at home has allowed my students to connect and engage with me! My old computer was starting to have issues running the Google Meets and students would mention a loud banging noise and that my camera would go fuzzy. Not to mention, my computer could not host a Kahoot game. With this new computer, I was able to communicate clearly with my students and they were able to see me everyday. Kahoot! was one of my students FAVORITE activities (we did it almost every week) and it would not have been possible without this computer! It also allowed me to clearly write and show problems using the touch screen feature on various other programs. Thank you again!!”

Funded Aug 24, 2017Thank you so much for donating flexible seating chairs! The students love having the option to choose which chair works best for them! Students can choose between rocking back and forth, being snug in a bean bag chair or standing up or on a higher chair. The flexible seating chairs have contributed to the environment of our classroom in more than just the tone of the classroom. It's also allowed students to realize what environment they are most productive in, which is something most people don't realize until they're adults. Thank you so much for the learning opportunities that the flexible seating have given these students!”

Staple This; Hole Punch That
Funded Aug 31, 2017Thank you so much for your generous donations! In this day and age, when its so easy to rely on technology, we are so grateful to have office supplies. We've been able to keep our binders organized with the staplers and hole punchers. In addition, whenever we make a mistake in stapling, we're able to fix it by taking the staple out with the staple remover and try again. These tools are aiding our ability to learn organization skills that we will have for the rest of our lives. We are very grateful for these basic materials that help our classroom function smoothly.”

Stations Supplies & Classroom Organization
Funded Mar 1, 2017Thank you so much for your generous donations! The students have been using the materials everyday! The bins help us keep the floor clear of clutter as well as keeping out materials safe too. Some bins we use to organize extra practice worksheets, readings, and games.
The grips and other incentive prizes sold out of the store like hot cakes! Students keep asking for more! If at any time you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them! I've already got a list of a few things from students too.
The colored paper has been great for scavenger hunts, task cards, and games! It always helps to add a little color to make something a little more enjoyable. And of course, the ream of paper was used instantly.
Thank you again for all of your help, my students have been so engaged this past quarter and I couldn't have done it with out your support.”

Easy as 1-2-3, Basic Math Supplies
Funded Sep 22, 2016Thank you so much for the classroom materials. The students use the materials daily. We use the white boards and markers at stations and small group instruction. We use rulers during measurement lessons and to help draw straight lines for projects. Students use the calculators for investigations. In one investigation, we were discovering that any number to the power of 0 is 1. Students were trying all sorts of numbers by starting with that number raised to the fifth power and then lowering the power each time to finally discover that the value will always be 1 when raised to the power of zero.
When my students first saw the materials they were excited and cheered. They helped open the boxes and decide how we should store the materials. We came up with expectations of how to use the materials since they were gifts to all of us.
At the end of our units, we have STEM projects. Our current project is building a bridge that can sustain various weights of cars. Students will use popsicle sticks and gum drops to build bridges that can hold various coins to represent the various vehicles that could be driving over the bridge. Students will use the white boards to design and calculate as well as the calculators to help with precision.”
