We are a part of a larger school who encourages inclusion. I co-teach reading, math, and science. I also help teach a reading intervention class. My classroom is set up to encourage and promote individuality. One of my main goals is to help students be relaxed and comfortable while doing their class work. Flexible seating allows students to easily pair up, work in small groups, or discuss as a whole class. Many flexible seating options stimulate students' sense of touch. This type of stimulation can help children focus and process information. Sensory input is especially helpful for students with ADHD, ADD, and ASD. By allowing the students to choose their workplace they are more attentive and motivated when it comes to learning. Classrooms that are student-centered are successful! My goal is to have a classroom setup that reduces stress and anxieties and promotes learning at its best. I love seeing all of my students succeed!
