  • Make Learning Fun!

    Funded May 28, 2021

Your gift card to Teachers Pay Teachers has been a GAME CHANGER for my classroom. I purchased a whole year's worth of writing units to provide my students direct instruction.

I also purchased a year's worth of math exit slips for all the learning standards.

Lastly I purchased some fun, interactive math projects as well as a year's worth of math interactive notebooks!

All of these activities and assignments will directly impact my student's learning and success. We can't thank you enough. The students have been so excited for the projects and look forward to math with our new resources.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Shapiro

  • Their Future is Bright!

    Funded May 4, 2021

Receiving these rainbow highlighters has been a game changer in our classroom! The students were so excited to see all the beautiful colors!

We have used these on multiple tests to practice our strategies of going back to look for our evidence. We also used this for a math project where we needed to color in, but I didn't want it to cover up the numbers.

Every time I tell the students we are going to use the highlighters they get so excited! This project has made learning fun for them.

I know these highlighters will directly impact and improve their test scores!”

  • Help Us Organize Our Classroom!

    Funded Oct 30, 2019

I can't even begin to explain how much your donation has impacted my classroom.

The carts have helped so much to keep all the materials organized. No longer am I misplacing things.

The 24 drawer holder has transformed my desk from a place of chaos to a place of organization. Everything now has it's perfect spot.

The laminator has been an even bigger game changer than I anticipated. I used to have to run to the teacher store quite often to get things laminated, and that would also slow down how quickly I could get materials ready. Having this laminator available anytime I need it is just amazing.

The students LOVE the bright colorful pillows with positive messaging, and the Mr. Sketch scented markers are another one of their favorite classroom additions.

I work with a population that has high drop out rates from school. All of these items help them have a positive connection with school, so I can not thank you enough! From my heart to yours. Happy Holidays!”

  • Bring Our Classroom To Life

    Funded Jul 31, 2019

Your donation has TOTALLY changed my classroom. The new rug is bright, colorful and comfortable for the students. It cleans so easily, the janitor said she loves it. It brings my students and me so much joy to have such a beautiful gathering spot.

I wish you could have seen my student's faces the first time I pulled out the microphone. They were so excited. It has been great for when I walk around the room, and ask students to share. They speak so quietly, so the microphone encourages them to speak up.

The Flair Pens have been wonderful in our writing center to make projects more bright and colorful.

The doorbell has been fantastic with our collaborative learning. When the time is up on the activity, I just ring the doorbell, no matter where I am in the class, since the doorbell is attached to my lanyard.

I am so thankful to you for your donation, it has transformed my classroom for the good.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Shapiro

  • Brighten Up Our Classroom

    Funded Dec 30, 2018

Thank you so much for the Astrobright paper. When my students saw it they said, "Woooow! Pretty colors!" They are not used to seeing such pretty paper.

So far what I have used it for is to make a bulletin board heading, as student brag papers and as the covers of our cereal box book reports. I have so many many more ideas for how to use the paper, but I hope to stretch the paper out, so it can benefit many students for many years to come. I really appreciate you helping us to brighten our classroom, and have beautiful, vibrant, and inviting colors to fill the walls.”

  • I Heart Sharp Pencils

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

I can not thank you enough for your donation of the pencil sharpener, reading comprehension questions and classroom incentives. For the first time I have a brand new pencil sharpener! Now I don't have to send our pencils down to the parent room to get sharpened. The students were so excited when I told them I could sharpen their pencils right then and there.

The reading comprehension questions are excellent for creating a deeper understanding of the reading material. In third grade it is the student's first year to take the STAAR test, so these questions are invaluable.

The students were literally jumping out of their seats when I was unpacking the classroom incentives. They are just fabulous. Amazing quality. The students work so hard day in and day out, they deserve to get a little prize at the end of the week. These prizes keep them motivated to do their homework. At the age of 8 and 9, a prize that they can hold in their hand is really a strong motivating force.

Again, I am so grateful for your contribution and support to teachers.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Shapiro

I will use these treasure box prizes to continue with my classroom incentives program. I never have to raise my voice at my students, because from day one, I hand out tickets for all things that I like: walking correctly in line, raising their hand, being on task, doing their homework, being a good listener, being a good classroom citizen and more will earn them tickets. Students cash in their tickets at the end of the week for treasure box prizes. The amount of tickets they have directly correlates with how hard they have worked that week. It is powerful for the students to see that their actions matter. Some students don't have tickets at the end of the week. Those students want to improve their actions the next week so that they are able to get the cool treasure box prizes that their peers are getting. Many of these students come from homes where their families can't always afford to buy them toys, so these prizes are all the more special to them. Without incentives, it is hard to motivate the students to do their best. These treasure box prizes will really help me to continue reinforcing positive behavior while correcting less desirable behavior.
