Off to a Great Start
Funded Oct 1, 2023This project has been amazing. When the supplies arrived the kids quietly played with them. NOW, they are engaging with each other and building things. They are combining their boxes/supplies to make more elaborate things. Mind you, they only get about 10 minutes each morning. They all have their favorite boxes but are willing to take any. The frequently tardy kids have started coming on time because they don't want to miss this activity. I enjoy listening to them talk about what they are creating. However, a lot will take this time to share information about their lives with their table partners. I am really happy you all have allowed me to implement this new morning start to my classroom culture.”

Funded Jul 14, 2020WOW! Thank you so much for all of your donations. I was able to add so much to their distance learning bags. My district put together a few things, pencils, a notebook, crayons and white board markers to write on sheet protectors. They also added a few math manipulatives. I was able to add so much more.
I put in another journal, glue, scissors, markers, an eraser, an actual whiteboard with 2 more markers, a whiteboard eraser, a 100 chart to write on, a pencil sharpener, a highlighter, pencil pouches and a bin to hold it all in.
When I handed out all 24 the kids were so excited. The kids are ready... not sure if I am though!!”

Distance Learning From Home
Funded Jul 23, 2020Thank you so much for your donation. The supplies are really helping me in this time of distance learning. I have been able to print out a lot of things. I put together my plan book, made phonics charts to use to teach sounds, and plan to use the chart paper next week for my lessons.
It is hard not having access to all of the supplies in my classroom. What came in this donation, is helping me feel successful. The chart paper is just the right size for the kids to be able to see it during our Zoom meeting. I plan on using it to show them how to properly print each letter.
Thank you again!”

Funded Oct 14, 2018Thank you so much for the wonderful supplies for my classroom . My students and I really appreciate it. They love having new pencils and erasers. There is something about a new sharp pencil with a brand new pencil top eraser that brings out the best work in kids. Instead of fighting over the few new pencils we had, we now have a huge basket on brand spanking new pencils... no fighting.
Also thank you for the colorful construction paper. We have done several art projects with it. We made fall trees, winter trees and used it for the National Symbols project. It was nice to have enough of the same color for all of my students.
Lastly, thank you for the black supply caddies. They love them. I put colored pencils, markers and crayons in them and they are easy to grab and place in the middle of the tables for all to share.
This donation has made my life easier and my students eager to work and learn!”

Funded Aug 31, 2017Thank you so much for your amazing donation. The laminating machine has helped me so much. I have been able to laminate their computer login cards, items for our language arts focus wall, word cards that they use to practice sight words and math charts for the math wall. It is a life saver. Several times I have tried to use the school laminator and it's usually out of film or broken. The one you helped donate has enabled me to get projects completed quicker. Laminating charts, cards and posters helps to preserve them for years to come. I really appreciate you thinking of our class when making your donation!”

Funded Aug 8, 2017Thank you so much for your donation. It was such an amazing treat to come back to school this week to brand new supplies. We have the huge box of crayons and markers, a bunch of colored construction paper in 2 different sizes, sentence strips and a class set of journals. The kids have already dug into the box of crayons and they have already started writing in their journals. I used the blue paper to complete a bulletin board. My students are excited to begin doing art projects with the construction paper. New supplies make them take more pride in their work. We are looking forward to putting the sentence strips and the rest of the paper and markers to good use!”

Funded Dec 1, 2015Thank you so much for your very generous donation. The kids were so excited to see and being using the new materials. The journals are used almost every day. I give them a topic such as a feeling, science concept or simply to write about their weekend. They love it.
The other two things that we got are for reading. The non fiction "magazine" as the kids all them are fantastic. They allow the kids to practice their reading while learning about a specific topic such as butterflies, dangerous jobs or apples, just to name a few. There are a total of 12 different topics. They love to read them with partners. They other set of books are to reinforce phonics skill that I have taught. They love reading these after I have taught a skill, then they pick out the words that follow that skill. Thank you again for your generosity!”

Counting on Cool 1st Graders
Funded Nov 21, 2015Thank you so much for your amazing donation. We use the math goodies almost everyday. The number chart helps the kids organize their numbers to 120. The math workbooks/journals give the kids daily practice with breaking down word story problems. The 3 different counters (red/white, colored and teddy bears) give the kids choices in the counter they want to use when solving problems. They are able to read their story problem then choose counters to help them visualize the problem when adding or subtracting. We also use the counters for counting collections. My students are getting very good at organizing their collections in groups of 2, 5 or 10s for easier counting. The number lines also help as another counting strategy. The dice are also amazing. There are numerous dice games that my students love to play. All of these math manipulatives are not necessary, but they are a fun way to keep students engaged and learning, in a fun way. Thank you again!!!”

Summer's Over... Let's Get Back to Work!
Funded Oct 28, 2015Thank you so much for your amazing donation. It is awesome so see people helping other people. Sometimes we forgot how generous people and strangers can be. It is inspiring that you will donate hard earned money to teachers and students you have never met. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
My students have had a chance to use many of the supplies you have donated. They have used the pencils and sharpener on a daily basis. They have used the construction paper for various art projects and creating covers for little books. We have used the white board makers for math and practicing phonics. The kids also use the dice for different math games and they love the cut outs for our calendar. Thank you so much for caring about my class!”

An iPad Mini for Mini Scientists
Funded Oct 10, 2014Thank you so much for your very generous donation. My class was so excited when the mini-iPad arrived. We have used it a lot. I use it to show science, social studies and math videos to the class. It hooks up to my classroom projector so all of my students can see. The kids also play games or do research individually or in partners. I use it for the low kids who need certain skills reinforced. They get to play math computation games or spelling games. The kids love it because they feel connected to technology. Many do not have tablets at home so this is a very special treat in the classroom.
Thank you again!”
