My students will be able to effectively practice their sewing skills by repetition while at the same time serving others. I have selected 3 charities for my students to participate in this year. I have also involved the National Honors Society students as well as FCCLA students to help cut out the projects for my students. This will enable them to complete a sewing service project within a 90 minute class period. Some of which include: 1. pillows for breast cancer patients recovering from mastectomies (https://seekatesew.com/sew4good-heart-pillows-for-breast-cancer/) 2. Fun, colorful, happy pillowcases for pediatric patients (https://caseforsmiles.org) 3. Sewing dolls for refugee children (https://www.dollsofhope.org/) I am "sew" excited to see my students participate in these charities., their new sewing skills will be polished but more importantly they will feel the happiness of giving our time to others.
