Keeping Our Learning Spaces in Order!
Funded Feb 9, 2022Thank you so much for the resources you have provided for our classroom. My students have enjoyed their seat sacks immensely. The students are able to keep all of their items in their seat sacks and have the flexibility to move around the classroom without worrying about where their personal items are. This helps many of my items feel comfortable and safe in the room and also feel a sense of security and independence that many of them only feel here.
They also learn about responsibility and how that impacts their learning and the learning of others. It helps build our community and team building as well.
Thanks again for making everything possible. It may seem like something little, but this makes a big impact on learning if it is something we do not need to worry about. Thank you once again!”

Funded Feb 9, 2022Our class loves using our classroom math games any opportunity we have to incorporate them into any standard. We use them to learn new concepts, as classroom rewards, when we have a reason to celebrate and to reinforce concepts taught. It is one of our favorite parts of our classroom.
We love to use the board games in our class mainly during our math block to help solidify math concepts but I have seen a huge growth in not only math concepts but also in their reading and understanding of procedural directions. The students are also developing critical thinking skills that increase every time they play.
The excitement that I have seen whenever they have a chance to choose a game to play with one another is amazing and they look forward to working together and collaborating with one another in game playing and strategizing. Thanks again for providing my students with such great resources!”

Funded Nov 30, 2021My students are thriving and loving the new books available to us. We have learned so much and been able to dive into a variety of new topics and a diverse range of books. Reading time has become a new popular time of the day, they are excited to pick from the new books and share new favorites with one another.
I love that they are exposed to diverse titles and are subjected to windows, and glass doors which they would not have been able to have access to otherwise. There is a new excitement and love of reading in my classroom that I am excited has occurred. Thank you once again for your care of these young learners.”

Funded Nov 20, 2021To have this project funded has been such a game-changer in my classroom. The students are more motivated than ever to complete their assignments, improve their behavior, and be better friends with one another more than ever. They count their money every day and check to see what the prices of things are so that they know if they need more or have enough to buy what they want that week. They buy items not just for themselves but for others they see need a fun treat that week. All students have a chance to earn money whether it Is for academic reasons, behavior, being caught in random acts of kindness, improvement in any capacity, and so much more. They love helping one another in learning about the different coins and currency they can earn and teaching one another how to count the different amounts. Thanks so much for making this possible!”

Funded Dec 23, 2021My classroom has been using our new resources in a variety of ways, we use them as incentives to encourage the whole class to work as a team and accomplish tasks. We incorporate them into our daily learning where centers are key. In these centers, the games are part of the curriculum and we learn our standards and core through the games we have received. We also have volunteers who help the students learn how to play the different games so that eventually the students can play them independently and have the ability to choose the game. This helps with reviewing along with social opportunities for my students. Thanks so much for making this possible in my classroom.”

Finding the Magic in Reading
Funded Oct 29, 2021My students love reading time. With our new books, I have new read-aloud books that I use to teach curriculum and content which the kids love because they learn through stories. We are also using our new books to read in our classroom during independent reading time, as well as group and partner reading. They love this especially because they are able to talk and share their love of literature with a friend, this sparks a genuine conversation on what they enjoy most from our new titles.
The books we received have also been able to be taken home and shared with families and encouraged to read with their students as well. Parents have also loved our new titles and getting to read with their student who is more motivated with a title they are excited to share. Thank you once again!”

Funded Aug 12, 2021My students have absolutely loved the new resources they have. They look forward to time to play each day. I can see that they have grown in their use of vocabulary, social-emotional skills, interpersonal skills, and compassion towards their peers. They find time each day to engage with one another and it has really made our classroom community grow and become stronger. They also talk about what they have learned throughout the day and communicate their likes and dislikes. I like that it is something they initiate on their own and they take charge of that time of the day and take ownership of that time. I have also found it as a great time for me to build relationships with my students and this, in turn, helps me to teach them and build connections. Thank you once again for your generosity and your willingness to invest in my classroom.”

Funded Sep 3, 2021Thank you for choosing our project to fund. I am thankful that we have a space that students can keep their Chromebooks and have easy access to them and charge when needed.
We use our technology almost daily, we use it to show our work to our family at home, and to share with each other in class. We also use it to learn and practice our skills through games which is very engaging and everyone in our class enjoys it. It is very important to me that students are responsible cyber citizens and are able to use technology to their advantage to further their learning and grow.
We use our charging station when needed and the students take ownership in keeping it an area in our classroom that they feel proud of. Thanks again!”

Funded Apr 16, 2021Thank you once again for funding this project and allowing my classroom library to grow in rich literacy. We were able to gain a variety of very diverse books. These books in the hands of young readers will make a great impact. The students are already reading them and asking questions, furthering their knowledge, and realizing that there is a big world out there and many things are different depending on who you are and where you are from.
We have been using these books to read independently, as read aloud, and to read at home with our families. I feel that they are loving all of these books and their curiosity and background knowledge are growing more and more.
The use of literature in my classroom is my favorite way to teach and you have made that possible for us. Thanks once again!”
