Portraits in Ink
Funded Nov 28, 2022My students are very grateful for your charitable donation. With your donation we were able to purchase all sort of high quality and expensive art materials we normally could not afford to purchase. From watercolor paper, to inks, gel pens, and frames to display the finished ink portraits.
My inner city students were filled with joy and wonder when opening the various boxes from Blick art supplier. Many of the materials are foreign to the students, but their excitement to get to work using the new supplies was palpable.
Thank you again for your generosity and support of my classroom and students.”
With gratitude,
Mr. A.
Social Justice Artwork
Funded Nov 30, 2021The Prismacolor colored pencils, drawing paper, pencils, brushes and other fine art supplies your donation has helped my classroom purchase are very much appreciated, and has enabled all my students access to these high quality materials. The nature of the consumable art materials requires the art teacher to be resourceful and find a way to acquire the necessary media for the students so that they can create artwork on a variety of surfaces and with multiple techniques.
Thank you for being the strongest supporter of my art classroom through this wonderful program DonorsChoose, the student experience would not be the same without you.”
With gratitude,
Mr. A.

Funded Aug 12, 2021With your generous donation, my students were able to gain access to high quality art supplies, such as watercolor paper, drawing inks, and a variety of brushes. With these supplies we have been working on a long-term portrait project.
When we first opened the boxes of new supplies, the students we filled with joy knowing they will be able to work with high quality art materials we typically cannot afford. These consumable materials allow the students to create meaningful boldly colored portraits of family members, themselves, girlfriends, and boyfriends, or even celebrities and athletes the student admire.
Thank you again for all you do!”

Funded Oct 12, 2020In this Remote-Learning setting we are all working in, my students were able to access the many resources your donation have enable us to use to create fantastic portraits in ink. I was able to safely deliver the supplies to my students. The watercolor paper, inks, sharpies, brushes, palettes, and various pencils and colored pencils will help my remote-learning students create bold portraits of people that they hold dear.
Your continued generosity has been a lifeline to my students, and without your support they would not have the opportunity to create artwork with a wide range of art materials and supplies they might not be able to use considering the limited budget of the art classroom. My students thank you for remember ing them and taking the time to donate to their classroom through the DonorsChoose program.”

Mr. A.
Remote-Learning Technology Tools
Funded Dec 1, 2020This special remote-learning project your donation helped fund, has already helped my students and me more than you can imagine. Already, I have created several drawing tutorial videos with the equipment I received thru the project with Donors Choose. I use the Mac as my main Zoom computer with the students, its large screen size has made the teaching experience much easier for me and a better experience for the students on their end. I use the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil to create digital artwork using the program Procreate, which I share all students but discuss in further detail with specific students that also have the same tools at home. I also pair the iPad with the Zoom call to document the drawing hand so that the students can see what I am doing on my surface. I mount the device above my drawing space with the help of a swing arm mount device and the sturdy Tripod I also purchased with this project. The iPad Pro also serves as a recording device to create time-lapse drawing videos for the students to learn from. And finally, I use the lights to illuminate the surface so that the cameras can better record the work, and I use the Bose Earbuds to listen and talk with the students when on the class Zoom call each period.
Thank you again for your support over the years and most recently helping fund this unique project.”

Funded Jan 31, 2020Your generous donation provided my students the opportunity to purchase watercolor paper, inks, brushes, and a variety of inks to create colorful portraits. When the supplies arrived my students helped open the boxes and put away the materials, filled with the excitement of working with the bold colors. They created beautiful works of their family members, friends, and famous heroes in the fields of music, acting, and sports.
These students do not typically have access to the variety of supplies your donation affords, as we are in a community that struggles to provide this type of opportunity.
Thank you again for thinking of my classroom and students!”

Mr. A.
My People in Many Colors
Funded Aug 11, 2019My students have already put the materials to great use creating portraits in many colors with the brushes, inks, paints, paper, and sharpies provided by your generous donations. When the supplies arrived, the students were excited to begin using the wide variety of materials and media to create their portraits with seemingly an unlimited assortment of color choices.
As my students complete their portraits, they will complete a small reflection writing assignment and then frame and hang their pictures in the school main hallway for display purposes!
Thank you again for helping my students in my classroom with your support.”

Portraits in Bold Colorful Ink
Funded Dec 22, 2018Thank you for the generous donation to our classroom ink portrait project. The students are actively using the variety of inks and sharpies, the watercolor paper, and the brushes to create bold colorful portraits of people of their choosing. Some students are busy making portraits of their friends, family members, and loved ones, while others crate images of their favorite athletes, singers, and leaders.
When the students were aware of the opportunity to get to use the precious art materials they were so excited. Especially since art supplies are challenging to acquire and must be carefully distributed as to not run out over the school year. Your donation has allowed many students to create many portraits, engaging them in the classroom activities above and beyond the expected outcome.
We cannot thank you enough for contributing to our creative process and allowing us to purchase ample supplies of inks, paper, and drawing materials to create artwork in abundance. The students are working hard on their projects and are grateful for the resources made available to them through the Donors Choose program.”
With gratitude,
Mr. A.
Icons in Ink
Funded Aug 19, 2018The inks, palettes, and sharpies were put to use by the students in my Drawing classes as we work on the Ink Portrait assignment. Each student gets to select the person for their portrait and choose the colors they want to represent the shading within each picture. The students love the opportunity to get to use the high quality materials we purchased with your generous donation. By providing the students in this economically challenged community with proper art supplies, they are able to engage with the art class in a way they may not have been able to due to limited resources. Thank you again for helping us purchase the inks, sharpies, palettes and bags to hold their supplies for this specific art project. Once completed we will display them in the hallway for the school campus to enjoy.”
With gratitude,
Mr. A.
Colorful Portraiture and Mural Storytelling
Funded Nov 22, 2017The charcoal and drawing supplies are much needed for the students to continue working on their self portraits they had already began but the supplies ordered through your generous donations supplement the charcoal supplies so that all students can have access to and the opportunity to participate in this project.
The ink and brushes purchased will help the students complete their ink portraits of important people in their lives. The bold colors and striking appearance of the ink portraits attract a lot of students to this lesson as many are very eager to do their own.
Finally, with your support we were able to continue refining our elaborate murals of the city where we live, work and attend school. These murals help the students tell their story through paint, as they are able to illustrate the various buildings and architecture they are proud to call theirs.”
With gratitude,
Mr. A.
