  • New Furniture for a Bright Future!

    Funded Aug 5, 2016

    Dear Donors:

Thank you so much for your donations to my classroom! My classroom has become more organized thanks to the new materials we were able to receive because of your generosity! The new furniture and bins are being used to house several of our instructional games and activities as well as our guided reading bins. When the students first saw the new furniture, they were very excited to put them to use. All of the furniture is accessible to students increasing their independence and freedom in the classroom. The furniture has greatly improved the general "feel" of our classroom. A huge thanks from me and my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hahn

  • The Power of Play in Kindergarten!

    Funded Apr 9, 2015

Thank you so much for your generous donation to this fun project! With your help, my students now have a large selection of age-appropriate games filling their classroom. It has been such a joy teaching my kindergarteners one game at a time, then watching the students independently play the games with their peers. In the short time we have had these fantastic games, I have already seen a huge improvement in my students' social and play skills. The students are playing cooperatively, following rules, taking turns, and independently setting and cleaning up the games.

Not only have these materials excited my students to interact with one another in a cooperative and appropriate way, but the games are also building on many academic skills, such as counting, adding, letter and word recognition, and reading comprehension. The games are being used every day during academic choice time and during transition activities.

I cannot begin to express how grateful I am to you for your donation. My students are having a great time learning to play the games and playing the games with their peers. I am having a wonderful time watching as my students grow!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hahn

  • Supplies for a SUPER Group of Kindergarteners

    Funded Mar 22, 2015

Thank you so much for your generous donation! With your help, my students now have their very own classroom easel as well as literacy games and puzzles. The easel is a huge help as we read large books, create class charts, complete our morning message, and do classroom sorts. The students are now able to come up to the easel and practice writing skills along with their teacher in front of their peers. Additionally, students are practicing their fine motor and literacy skills as they complete puzzles and engage in literacy games. The students are learning organizational skills as they put the puzzles away independently as well.

Not only have these materials created excitement in my students during whole group and small group activities, but they have been a valuable teaching resource. We use the easel daily during whole-group instruction and utilize the puzzles and literacy games during academic choice time. We also use the puzzles and literacy games during our small reading groups.

Without donors like you, my super group of kindergarteners would not have access to high-quality classroom furniture and supplies in their very own classroom. Thank you from all of us!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hahn

  • Developing Students Social Skills With Technology

    Funded Aug 24, 2014

Our students love using technology and they love using their new GoPro camera! Not only has the camera been used to record real-life social situations with students to re-watch and discuss possible solutions for working with our peers but it has most recently, been used to make our very own movie!

We just finished an English/Language Arts unit on Stories. The students particularly enjoyed the story of "The Three Little Pigs." As an extension of the unit, we decided, as a class, to make a movie. The students were involved in every aspect of the movie creation process, including the filming of the movie, thanks to the GoPro and thanks to you!

The students are always so excited to see themselves on screen and are intensely engaged whenever the GoPro is used in the classroom. Thank you for allowing our kindergarteners to interact with the newest technology and for allowing them to become movie stars and filmmakers!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hahn

  • Learning to Read!

    Funded Sep 16, 2014

Thank you so much for your generous donation! With your help, my students now have their very own classroom library. The books are incorporated into my classroom every single day. Each of my students has their own personalized bag full of books at their reading level. These books have inspired a love of reading in my classroom!

Not only have these materials encouraged my students to improve their literacy skills and their motivation to read, but they have also built my students' confidence. After gaining experience in reading new texts, my students proudly show off their reading skills as they fluently read books at their independent reading level.

Without donors like you, many students would not have access to emergent reading books in their very own classroom. Thank you!”

  • Playground Supplies For Students On The Autism Spectrum

    Funded Jul 8, 2014

Thank you so much for the playground supplies. Not only did this equipment benefit the students of my classroom, but it benefited students throughout my school. We have used the equipment on the playground as well as in the classroom.

The students love the equipment! They love the variety of balls and thoroughly enjoy pretending to be basketball stars with the balls and basketball hoops. The playground supplies transformed our once empty playground into a fun place to interact and practice social skills.

Through your contributions you have allowed my students to practice social skills, such as sharing, cooperative play, and pretend play. I have also used the balls to teach students about big and small, hard and soft, and selecting objects based on different attributes.

My students and I are very grateful to you and happy to finally have playground supplies!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hahn

  • A Gallery Walk for Students on the Autism Spectrum

    Funded Apr 2, 2014

Thank you all so much for your generous donations to this project. With your help, my students were able to express themselves using various modes of art. They loved painting, molding the clay, and creating collages. Not only were they able to express themselves freely while creating art, but they were able to share their pieces with their families as well.

With the help of your donations, students who generally are not able to express themselves or effectively communicate were able to use art to express themselves in a safe, warm, and loving environment. A big thank-you from myself, my students, and the families of my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hahn

  • Learning Through Technology for Students with Autism

    Funded Dec 18, 2013

Thank you so much for your generous donation! With your help, my students now have their very own classroom iPad and interactive clocks. The iPad and clocks are incorporated into my classroom every single day. Each of my students has their own personalized folder with instructional apps on the iPad that they are able to use when they have completed a task or assignment. The interactive clocks are being utilized as I introduce my students to telling time on both analog and digital clocks. These resources have inspired a love of technology in my classroom!

Not only have these materials encouraged my students to engage in technology, but they have also increased my student's motivation to learn using interactive resources and materials. After gaining experience with new technology-centered resources, my students proudly show off their skills in different content areas as they fluently navigate through the iPad and tell time.

As a second-year teacher, I am still collecting different resources to use with my students. With your help, I am able to infuse my students with a love of technology and learning every day!

Without donors like you, many students would not have access to technology and engaging, interactive resources in their very own classroom. Thank you!”

  • Music and Art for Students on the Autism Spectrum

    Funded Feb 19, 2013

This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The CD player, art supplies, and other materials have been incorporated into my classroom every single day. These materials have encouraged my students to improve their communication skills because they are consistently requesting to use the materials that you helped purchase! They frequently ask to paint and listen to music. After working on their communication skills using these materials, the students now ask for specific songs and have learned their colors as they request different colors to use when painting.

As a first-year teacher, I am still collecting different resources to use with my students. With your help, I am able to incorporate music and art into the lives of my students as they work on academic skills and daily living skills.

Without donors like you, many students would not have access to education through music and art.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hahn
