I Teach Information Technology classes in a small system in Alabama. My classroom is a computer lab with a hands on station setup in the middle. My classroom is project based with students working on computers either through their online lab simulations or on real computers. The goal of my program is to branch out from PC and Networking hardware and provide students with the opportunity to explore technology they don't have access to at home. Technology such as Drones, Tablets, Programming, Multimedia Design and hopefully 3D printing. Many of my students don't have internet or a PC at home. Their access to the internet comes from a smart phone. 80% of the students are on free or reduced lunch. I hope that my classroom provides a gateway for students to find a technological based occupation that interests them and helps them improve their situation.
