I am an English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers in a public, Title I funded school. I am currently working in a bilingual school, so my students receive instruction throughout the day in both English and Spanish. I work with students in a variety of ways: whole group, pull out, and push in. I mostly work with small groups of six or smaller in my office where they get instruction specifically designed to meet their academic and language needs. My job as their ESL teacher, is to build their content specific, academic vocabulary while also helping them in their reading, writing, speaking, and listening abilities in English. Any support will directly impact these kids in providing them with richer, more engaging learning materials.
