  • We Like Big Books and We Cannot Lie!

    Funded Jan 1, 2017

I do not have the words to express my gratitude for your support for our project. I try to offer as many opportunities to our students as I can, and your support makes it possible for me to continue to do this. My students were so thrilled to hear the news when I told them. Once again, thank you!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Matteson

  • Let's Talk: a Project for ELLs

Wow! Thank you so much. This is such terrific news! My students will enjoy all of our new supplies and they will not go to waste in the next school year. Your contribution really means a lot to my students and I and we thank you for you donations. Once again thank you so much.”

  • iPad Cases and Magnetic Letters

    Funded Jun 4, 2015

Thank you so much for your donation to my project. My students are quickly falling in love with learning because of the books you have provided our classroom.

My students take advantage of the magnetic letters and ipad accessories most during centers. Centers are a time for my students to explore learning through games and having fun. I am now able to give them an ipad center and a library center! These are 2 of their favorite centers. They love learning with songs and videos so this allows them to do so, as well as giving them the exposure to technology that they do not get at home.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Matteson

I am a first year teacher with 26 students at a new public charter school surrounded by a struggling low socio-economical neighborhood. While it can be challenging at times, I know I have chosen the right profession. It warms my heart each morning as my kindergarten students arrive at school eager to learn even though most of them come from households living below the poverty level. They spoke little or no English when they began school this fall. They have come so far in just one semester of school, but we are still working to reach our target level. Parents of these students have chosen our school in hopes of a better life for their children. Because of these committed parents and enthusiastic students I want to help make a difference in their lives by providing them my devotion to do my best and the determination to provide them with the materials that I think will help them succeed in today’s world. These families struggle just to provide the bare necessities of life.
