Magical Math Rewards
Funded Dec 16, 2022I cannot thank you enough for your generous donation to my classroom. My students are so excited when they win a reward and receive one of the Amazon gift cards you provided.
This small incentive has encouraged some of my lowest learners to be more engaged and to join in class. They have the motivation to work just a little harder in order to earn this special reward.
I hope that you will continue to give to Donors Choose in the future. Teachers really appreciate the gifts that you bestow upon us and our students and how you help to lighten our load just a little. Thank you so much.”

Magical Math Rewards
Funded Feb 2, 2022My students have been very excited to earn the Amazon gift cards. It has increased their motivation to complete assignments knowing that a gift card is on the line.
Since our students are virtual, getting mail has been a big thing for them. As teachers we have tried to increase our correspondence with our students so that they feel connected. As an added bonus, a random $10 Amazon gift card comes in their envelopes and this excites them even more. This would not even be possible without your generous donations.
Hopefully, in the future, I can apply more loans to increase the amount of students that are gifted for their hard work while being at home. Being a virtual student has its ups and downs and anything we can do to help bring a smile and to help a student feel more connected to the outside world is a good day.”

Make , Create and Invent with Makey Makey
Funded Dec 13, 2019I was able to use our Makey Makey with a group of low achieving students. They read a book, create a poem for the book, we recorded them reading their poem and then we used the Makey Makey to create interactive posters. When you touched the poster with the magic pen, the audio recording began to play. Our kids were super excited to work on this project
We truly appreciate your donation to this project. Our kids have been super excited to try other projects to create music or other interactive posters and these kids rarely get excited about anything.
This would not have been possible for your generous donations. Thank you once again for your help.”

"Dash" for the Finish Line
Funded Sep 30, 2019Thank you so very much for your generous donation for our "Dash for the Finish Line" project. Having the addition of the Dash robot in our STEM lab has given students the ability to think outside of the box.
Students have been creating and designing their own experiments with the Dash robot. The creativity that I have seen with this one small piece of equipment has been limitless. The most struggling learners have warmed up to this new technology and the ease of its use.
Allowing students to create their own experiments have helped me to achieve my goal of increasing computational thinking in the classroom. It is a life skill that students need to learn in order to be successful in tomorrow's workplace. Thank you for your generous donation and the ability to inspire young people to become more productive adults.”

Funded Jan 25, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donations to bring Ozobots to our math classroom. Students have been able to use them to practice coding using vital math skills. When we opened the box and I showed them the new robotics tools, my students were very excited. They have been very careful with the materials in hopes of being allowed to use them more and more.
Their first assignment with them was the Great Ozobot Quadrilateral challenge. Students were given different clues to draw a quadrilateral and then given different coding challenges. They had a blast.
These types of enriching activities are made possible by your generous donations. I hope that in the future you would consider making donations to other teachers and the amazing things they have going on in their classrooms. Once again, thank you for your generous donations.”

Seating for Active Students
Funded Jan 17, 2017My students love, love, love the new office chairs for our classroom. They feel free to move around at their desk by swiveling or swirling and are not confined to a very uncomfortable desk. You cannot imagine the impact this has made on their focus and attention in class. They have been on top of things lately and I can only attribute this to the flexibility of their seating that you have provided for them. I am anxious to see how their standardized testing scores are affected through this small change in my classroom. Once again, thank you for your generous donation.”

Stability Ball Chairs for Active Students
Funded Dec 15, 2016Thank you so much for donating to our project. Our students have been very excited to have these types of chairs in our classroom. I have noticed a spike in student achievement as well as an increase in student attention spans. Students that are usually underachievers because of their ADHD condition are now soaring, participating, and achieving. I am so excited to see the results on standardized testing for this school year. Once again, thank you so much for donating to this project. Your donation has made a real impact in our classroom.”

Hands-on Math for Success!
Funded Mar 16, 2016I can't believe I've had another project funded with the help of the great Greenville community. My students are desperate to understand fractions and having a hands on fraction kit that can stay in my class everyday will aid to deepen their understanding of a tough topic. Right now we are working on graphing points and being able to stamp a coordinate plane in their notebooks quickly has changed the amount of time we spend on graphing.
My kids are so excited for new manipulative's in the classroom. We are so thankful for the generous donations given from all of my parents and #BestSchoolDay. Thank you so much for your support. We cannot do it without your help.”

Funded Sep 25, 2015Your donation to our classroom has been a wonderful and much needed addition. We are able to use technology daily to enhance our math instruction. We have used it for Google Classroom, Excel, Videos to explain math problems to other students, and so much more. It is wonderful to have access to so many computers at one time in my classroom without having to reserve a computer cart. You donation has changed the instruction in my classroom and my students are so thankful for your donation. I cannot begin to thank you for the generosity you have bestowed on my students.”

Laptops For Learning Take Two
Funded Feb 27, 2015Thank you so much for your gracious donation to our classroom. As a direct result of having one more computer in the classroom, I have been able to incorporate twice as many technology type lessons into the classroom. The kids are finally excited about coming to math class and as a result they have been grasping on to concepts that have been troublesome to students in the past.
Since receiving the Chromebook, we have embarked on a QR code scavenger hunt around the room. Students used the QR readers to take them to a question and then with the answer they had to find the next question and repeat to find the secret message, "I love Beck Academy". With the help of PTA funds as well, I was able to purchase headphone splitters. This allows up to 5 children to share one computer. Having the chromebook reduced the size of the groups to 4 and students have been using the computers to watch me on a video teaching the lesson and working independently. This frees me up to answer twice as many questions and work one on one with students.
With the help of your generous donation, my students are now excited about math which makes teaching more exciting. I can't wait to find more creative ways to use technology in the classroom. Thank you once again for your generous donation and your support.”
