  • Prizes for Good Citizens!

    Funded Mar 4, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donations!

My students love all these new prizes. The animal erasers and squishies are their favorites. These prizes have helped keep the students motivated on their learning especially at the end of the year.

The second grade students are also participating in a Spring Dance this year. I have also given prizes for good participation.

My students have worked hard on being good citizens and I enjoyed giving rewards for those students who work hard and follow the 4 B's - to be respectful, responsible, ready, and safe.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Dypiangco

  • MacBook Air for STEM Projects!

    Funded Sep 4, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donations.

My second grade students have been working on animal reports in class. They each chose a different animal to research. They read books about their animal from our class library and online. They were also able to visit different websites to gather more information if needed. After researching they filled in a graphic organizer describing the different characteristics of their animal, its' habitat, diet, how it survives, and some interesting facts.

My students are now working on a Keynote Presentation so they can present their findings to the class. The MacBook Air was extremely useful for this project. Some students used the laptop to research and others to work on their Keynote project.

I can't wait for my class to present their Keynote Presentations.”

  • Basic Supplies Needed!

    Funded Jul 31, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donations. These supplies have helped the students so much in class be organized and ready to learn. The students use the notebooks daily for math and language arts. In math the students are working on solving word problems. The folders have also been very useful so the students can save classwork to complete the next day.

In second grade the students are constantly writing stories. I use the post-it easel pad to write group stories together. The students really enjoy writing!

    Thanks again.”

  • Prizes for Good Citizens!

    Funded Nov 27, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations. I have been able to use these prizes as incentives to motivate my students in different areas. One area I have used these incentives is in my students' mastery of high frequency words. When the students pass a level they receive a prize. They can also receive a prize for passing levels on their math facts. My students also love stickers! I give stickers daily for work completed.

These incentives are great to help motivate my students to try their best in class.

    Thanks again!”

  • Supplies for a Busy Class!

    Funded Aug 7, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations. I use the Post-it Easel Pad daily when I make charts for Language Arts and Math. It is very useful because I can just stick it on the white board so the students can see.

The students enjoy using the Crayola markers during art class. They love to trace their drawings and color with them.

Thank you also for the Teacher's Plan Book Plus. This has really kept me organized, so I know the different lessons I am doing each day in Language Arts, Math, ELLP Academy, Science, and Social Studies.”

  • Classroom Basics Needed!

    Funded Jul 15, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations!

My class was able to get off to a good start this school year with the spiral notebooks and pocket folders. My students use the spiral notebooks daily in math when they do their math problem solving. Also, the pocket folders are used to save any unfinished work. These materials have helped to keep my students organized.

My students love the squishy toys and fidget spinners! They have been used as incentives for my students to continue to be good citizens and to try their best every day.

    Thanks again for your donations.”

  • Digital Resources for Second Graders!

    Funded Feb 7, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations. I have been able to purchase some amazing digital resources for my students through Teachers Pay Teachers.

One of the resources I purchased was for simple reading passages about famous African Americans. For their biography project my students had to select an African American to research and then answer some questions. Some of my students used the information from these passages from Teachers Pay Teachers.

After researching my students had to create a video presenting their findings about their famous African American. I then created an iMovie with all of their videos.

The students had a great time researching and making their videos.”

  • A Very Merry Christmas

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donation!

My students looked so festive for our Holiday Program wearing their beautiful leis, flowers, and Hawaiian skirts. My students sung beautifully and also looked their best with these added Hawaiian-themed accessories.

The voice amplifiers also came in handy when they were practicing their Christmas songs. They have also used the voice amplifier to practice their Black History Month presentation coming up later this month. The students enjoy practicing their presentations with a partner.

    Thanks again!”

  • Technology is Important!

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

Thank you for your generous donations. Receiving a new MacBook Pro laptop has been indispensable to my students and me.

I use the laptop daily to project lessons in Benchmark reading or sometimes just to show an image of a new vocabulary word that is unknown to my class.

My new laptop was extremely helpful in guiding my students to create their first Keynote presentation on their animal. Creating a slide show for them was so exciting!

Lessons are also displayed weekly from Scholastic News. We preview the latest issue and review the vocabulary on the Scholastic website. Then we read it aloud in class. After reading I go back to Scholastic.com to show them the games that go along with the issue.

    Thanks again!”

  • My Students Love to Read!

    Funded Sep 11, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donations. My students LOVE reading and are enjoying the new Clifford, Henry and Mudge, and Real Kids Readers.

Throughout the day when the students finish their work they have time to read for pleasure. Many of my students enjoy these stories because they can relate to the topics and they are easy for them to understand.

After reading a book, I encourage them to write about their favorite part of the story and to draw a picture. The students love to share their writing and drawings.

    Thanks again!”
