  • Let's Rock On Recorder!

    Funded Jan 8, 2016

Thank you so much for donating all this great music to our classroom! While we have only really scratched the surface with this new collection of music, it has already had a big impact on my students. One particular piece that my students love is "B A Galactic Explorer." It uses just two notes, but is set over an exciting orchestral piece that conjures images of space travel and exploration. Suddenly my students who felt insecure because they can only play a few notes feel empowered because they can play a few notes, and these few notes sound great! It is awesome to see how exciting the students are about the music, and to see how it helps them to improve their own musicianship.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mason

  • Real Live Music to Our Ears

    Funded Dec 31, 2015

Thank you so much for giving my students the very special experience of seeing and hearing live music up close. The performance was simply amazing! It was truly the musical highlight of our school year.

The musicians were not only incredible at their instruments, their ability to share their knowledge in a way that my young students could engage with was inspiring. It was simply awesome to see the delight on my students' faces as they heard and learned about a variety of music. They could not resist tapping, snapping, and dancing, and truth be told, the teachers couldn't either!

Your generosity has provided my students with an unforgettable memory that will inspire them to continue learning about and making music. I can't thank you enough!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mason

  • Let's Get Connected!

    Funded Dec 16, 2015

Thank you so much for donating the iPad and speaker to my classroom. Your generosity has already made a powerful impact on my students.

Thanks to you, my students have a great listening experience when we are listening to music in our music class. No longer do we have to listen to orchestras performing through tiny computer speakers; we can now experience the power and range of the music through our new speaker. No longer do my students have to wait for me to run to my computer to choose the music we are going to listen to; we can now use the iPad to have a world of music at our fingertips.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mason

  • Making Music!

    Funded Dec 8, 2015

Thank you so much for your contribution to my music classroom! Your donations have already made a huge impact on my students.

The recorders have ensured that each of my students gets their very own instrument to learn on. My third grade students have far exceeded my expectations with their enthusiasm and dedication to learning recorder. The batteries have helped me to power our keyboard center, and my younger students absolutely love exploring on the keyboards. The streamers have been a great manipulative to use during our many movement activities - the kids love them.

Thanks so much for making such a big difference in my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mason

  • Mallet Madness!

    Funded Dec 6, 2015

Thank you so much for donating the xylophone to my classroom! The students have already gotten a lot of use out of it, and we appreciate your generosity so much.

My preschoolers have been using the xylophone for exploration, and have learned about high and low. Kindergarteners have done the same, and have also used the xylophone to imitate animal sounds, such as woodpeckers. First graders, second graders, and third graders are about to start our Mallet Madness unit, where we read music, improvise, compose and more using the instruments.

The xylophone has been an amazing addition to our class, and we will continue to utilize it for years to come.”

    With gratitude,

  • Take a Seat!

    Funded Nov 14, 2015

Thank you so much for the Hokki Stools and new table for my classroom! My students have put them to great use and are really benefiting. Finally, we have a table to hold our instruments, and for students to lean on when working. The stools are such an important part of the classroom. For my students that need constant movement, it allows them to move and still focus on their work. Distractions are greatly reduced. But the stools are so much fun, everyone wants a turn! So the stools have also become a component of our "Beethoven Buck" reward system. They love earning time to sit on the chairs. It helps them focus and learn, and it helps keep them motivated.”

  • Scarves! Scarves! Scarves!

    Funded Aug 21, 2015

Thank you so much for donating these scarves to my classroom. Having a prop in hand helps even the most timid child forget their inhibitions and have a great experience with movement. These new scarves are just the right size for my younger students. They have already gotten a lot of use, and will continue to be used for years to come. We get up and move all the time, and the scarves are a staple in our movement activities. The students love to use them! Your kindness and generosity and so appreciated.”

  • Making the Cut (and Storing It)

    Funded Mar 24, 2015

Thank you so much for your generous contributions to my classroom! The materials you have provided us with have made a big difference to me and my students.

The storage containers have streamlined our procedures, and have allowed students to be more independent when selecting instruments. The scissors have already been used in so many interdisciplinary projects. The guitar strap has helped to make the guitar a more functional instrument in the classroom.

Your help has really been a great asset in our classroom. I can't thank you enough!”

    With gratitude,

  • Make Music Marvelous

    Funded Mar 18, 2015

Thank you so much for funding this proposal! These wonderful classroom resources have had an amazing impact on my teaching and my students and I are so grateful.

The guitar has been extraordinarily beneficial. Since we received it, I have improved on my guitar skills, so that I am now able to accompany my students in almost everything we do. Since I am no longer behind the piano as often, I can put on the guitar and shimmy and shake right along with the students. It's great!

The recorder karate curriculum has helped me to develop a course of study, particularly for my hardest working students.

Your donations have been so useful and my students and I can not thank you enough.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mason

  • A Gameplan for Music Education

    Funded Feb 18, 2015

Thank you so much for helping to purchase the Gameplan curriculum. It is filled with teaching ideas, songs, games, and activities that have really helped to improve and revitalize my curriculum. Students absolutely love anything I do from the curriculum, and the visual aids really help to engage my students.

My curriculum is constantly evolving, and I really love drawing ideas from this wonderful curriculum. It really helps to solidify concepts with my students in a fun and interesting way. Your generosity is truly appreciated.”
