Remote Learning v.2.0
Funded Oct 23, 2020Thank you so much for funding our project! With your donations were able to purchase all the items in our wish list.
We're using technology for remote instruction during the school day. Some students are at home and some are in school. A major problem I've encountered delivering quality instruction to both groups
Now, I am able to teach both groups simultaneously with the equipment purchased. My students are learning, especially since now they are able to see their friends, at home and at school.
My students, parents and I are very grateful to you. Again, thank you!”

Ms. Arias

Funded Sep 11, 2020Thank you so much for you kind donation. Your gift enabled us to receive two air purifiers with replacement filters, an automatic hand soap dispenser, an automatic hand sanitizer dispenser, kid-sized masks and lanyards. I had to explain what the lanyards were (we hook them to our masks) for and they really liked the idea.
The children understand the importance of keeping healthy. As soon as they come into the classroom and after they put their belongings away, they sanitize their hands and hook their lanyards to their masks. Thankfully, because of the lanyards, we haven't had anyone drop their mask on the floor. The air purifiers are definitely making a difference with the quality of the air in the classroom, especially now that it's colder and we can't keep the windows open for too long.
Currently, I am working on ideas on how to get sets of books for my students to take home and keep for the rest of the school year since we aren't able to use the classroom library. They do have access to books online, however I'm a believer that young children also need paper books to read and enjoy.”

Ms. Arias
Can't Share? Don't Despair!
Funded Sep 12, 2020Thank you so much for your generous contribution. Your donation was able to get us laundry baskets and tote bags (with hooks) for our classroom. I got the idea from a teacher's Pintrest post.
Because of covid restrictions, we can't use our classroom closet to store our coats or back packs. The baggies free up space in their desks for supplies. We usually have the supplies in table baskets that are shared by tablemates. Now they have to keep their own supplies with them. So having the baskets and baggies keeps the kids' belonging safe and organized.
When the kids first saw laundry baskets, one said, "Who's doing laundry?". Then, I explained what they were going to be used for and they thought it was "cool". Since were immersed in reading Johnny Appleseed and his life lessons for us to live by, one being "Use What You Have", I took the opportunity to explain how the laundry baskets illustrate that idea.
Currently, I working on ideas on how to get sets of books for my students to take home and keep for the rest of the school year since we aren't able to use the classroom library. They do have access to books online, however I'm a believer that young children also need paper books to read and enjoy.
On behalf of my students, we send you lots of love and health in this new year.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Arias
Needed: Books! (Plain & Simple)
Funded Dec 23, 2010We thank whole-heartily for your generous donations. The non-fiction books we purchased, are a must needed addition to our classroom library. The children immediately were drawn to the various non-fiction topics that those books have to offer. Since the books we purchased are leveled, even my struggling readers can choose a book they can read and appeals to their interests.
Now that there is such an emphasis on the Common Core State Standards and the push towards more non-fiction reading in the elementary years, I feel that with your donations, we are on the right track towards preparing my students for their future.
Again, thank you for contributing towards and valuing the education of our children. Your donation has made a difference in our classroom.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Arias
