I have the privilege of teaching students in the Englewood Community within Chicago Public Schools. Our students are dynamic. They are eager to learn and full of creativity. One of their best features is being resilient. About 95% of our students are African American and about 5% Hispanic. All of our students receive free lunch. Majority of them live below the federal poverty line, but that doesn't stop them from dreaming and working. They know, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world" Nelson Mandela. Imagine a class where students question, explore, discover, and collaborate. Welcome to our class! We use STEM practices to develop our conceptual knowledge of math and science concepts.
