Fueling Success
Funded Jan 12, 2024I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your consideration and support of our initiative aimed at providing sustenance to our students. Your willingness to contribute snacks and fidget toys means a great deal to us and will undoubtedly make a significant difference in the lives of our students.
Many times, our students face challenges such as fatigue and lack of motivation, often due to insufficient food. Your support will help ensure that they have access to the nourishment they need to stay focused and engaged in their learning journey. The provision of individually wrapped snacks for those who may have missed breakfast or lunch will undoubtedly help maintain their energy levels and concentration throughout the day.
By addressing hunger-related distractions and providing resources for focus, we anticipate a notable improvement in class participation and overall student engagement. Your contribution not only supports their immediate needs but also enhances their chances of success in the classroom and beyond.
Having nutritious snacks readily available in the classroom cabinet will make a significant difference for every student entering our classroom, creating a supportive and conducive environment for learning.
Once again, thank you for your generosity and support. Together, we are making a positive impact on the lives of our students and fostering a culture of learning and success.”

Funded Sep 20, 2023I can't thank you enough for your generosity! I am extremely grateful, and my students are going to be very excited about the "Colors of the World" markers for our classroom. When students are assigned art projects during English class involving a sketch of themself, there are never colors that match their skin color. They now have 24 shades of skin to choose from. Not every student is peach or brown!
When the students first saw the packages of markers, they dumped them on the table and started to hold up the marker to match their skin. It was super cool to see how close the colors matched. Our next project with be bandaids for a variety of skin colors.”

Tissue Time
Funded Aug 16, 2023Thank you so much for helping fund our classroom project by purchasing 180 boxes of Kleenex. The weather in Wisconsin is damp, cold, and gray during the winter months. The Kleenx is being used for students in several classrooms to help with colds, sniffles, and sneezing,
The school only provides a roll of thin toilet paper to each classroom for students' use. When the students first saw the boxes of Kleenex, they said, "Thank God, finally a teacher who has the good stuff'! They carefully unpacked several boxes and placed them on each table. Students decided which classes should be offered a few boxes of tissue for classroom use. The Kleenex was proudly delivered.”

Funded May 9, 2023I am so excited to see that this project has been funded. The support of the DonorsChoose community is overwhelming and I feel so blessed to know so many people that value public education as much as you do. Thank you again for allowing me to provide jogging pants for some of our most needy students. I can't thank you enough for your generosity!
Our high school students come from 54 different high schools. Approximately fifty percent of our students are low-income. At times, students need to walk in the rain or snow to school, their cars break down during inclement weather, or they may slip and fall in the bad weather. These jogging pants will be used to replace their wet clothes and keep them comfortable.
The next project I will be submitting is for gadgets for students with autism. Kids and teens on the spectrum often deal with the challenges of unexpected events, miscommunication, and overwhelming sensory experiences. Their sensory threshold can be lower than the general population and daily experiences can be painful or very tiring. Gadgets are very helpful and enjoyable for them.”

Funded Apr 6, 2023Thank you to the Donor:
I am reaching out to thank you for the kind donation you made to our program! Thank you so much for your donation towards The Addams Family! We were able to put on one of the best productions our school has seen in years and we couldn't have done it without you! Your generosity allowed us to purchase props that truly helped bring our show to life! We were also able to purchase costumes that would not have been available to us in the past. When I relayed the message to my students that our program had been funded, it gave them hope. The feeling that someone outside of our department and school was supporting them encouraged them in a multitude of ways. The Saint Francis High School Drama Club is so thankful for you and your kindness. Thank you for your support of the arts.”

Funded Nov 29, 2022Thank you so much for helping fund our classroom project by purchasing fidgets. Students find a small amount of relief and relaxation from the smallest things. The Newton's cradle balance balls, kinetic art asteroid, 3D Pin Artboard, shapeshifting box (the ultimate favorite), and the sand art picture frame are a hit!
When the students first saw the boxes had arrived they were so excited. They carefully unpacked the boxes and took turns investigating the new products. Anxiety was being calmed, in a small way.
Students are starting the third quarter of school. The freshmen are reading short stories and analyzing in-text citations and context clues. The sophomores have started reading a book called Paper Town by John Green, the junior class is getting ready for the ACT, and the seniors are doing their best to not get senioritis.”

Funded Nov 29, 2022Thank you so much for helping fund our classroom project by purchasing grab-and-go snacks, hot chocolate, coffee, and creamers for our Keurig. The weather in Wisconsin is very cold and gray during the winter months. The hot beverages are being used as an incentive to help unmotivated students accurately complete their assignments and projects.
When the students first saw the boxes had arrived they were so excited. They carefully unpacked the boxes and helped put the snacks and drinks into the appropriate containers. Smiles were abundant.

Funded Oct 19, 2022I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful donation to our high school. Our students' lunch hours are thirty minutes and the lines can get long for the microwaves. The addition of two additional microwave ovens has helped the lines move much more quickly. This allows the students to return to class on time, which helps improve their grades. Students are required to clean the microwaves after each use which increases responsibility. At the end of each week, students with intellectual disabilities have "jobs" to complete. Deep cleaning of the microwaves has been added to their responsibilities. They are proud to help with jobs around the school's lunchroom.”

Funded Jan 7, 2022I am so excited to see that this project has been funded. The support of the DonorsChoose community is overwhelming and I feel so blessed to know so many people who value public education as much as you do. Thank you again for allowing me to provide these books for our high school English classes. I can't thank you enough for your generosity!
In English 12 class, Frankenstein is a required classic dealing with the art and literature of the Romantic Period, over two centuries ago. It is a classic, showing the interactions between the young scientist Victor Frankenstein and his nameless monster. The creature is NOT named Frankenstein! Students will understand that there may be unintended consequences of science and technology. They can see how the monster interacts with others, develops his own personality, and is influenced by his surroundings and interactions with other people. Students can see and feel how much progress they are making by physically holding copies of the books. It will be easier on the eye, keep students more engaged, and increase the joy of reading.
The next project will be for personal hygiene and clean clothing for some of our neediest students. As spring approaches, many of the students have grown out of their summer clothes. These students may feel like outsiders because they lack clean clothes or basic hygiene items. That's why we have created a Personal Care Pantry to include clothes, laundry detergent, and hygiene products.”
