I have a very diverse group of students coming from different ethnic and economic backgrounds. Many of my students are considered economically disadvantaged and lack the resources to be able to dive in deeper into their education. Because of this many of them do not have their own personal experiences with much of the outside world. Students need to be able to understand how these elements can impact their lives since one day they will be living in the "real world" themselves. I also have a wide range of reading levels in my classroom. Some of my students are still emerging out of a kindergarten level and some who are well into a sixth grade level. By having all different levels available in the classroom, this can meet all my students reading needs.
