This therapeutic activity will help our disabled students who feel lost, overwhelmed, or isolated, express their feelings and visualize hope. Using Legos to build lighthouses is a therapeutic and beautiful way to identify needs, feel hope for the future, and guide students on their individual journeys. The lighthouses that these special education students will create will be a representation of overcoming challenges and adversity as well as adding guidance and supports in their lives. The students most commonly use these lighthouses to symbolize a way to move forward and the help that is out there to navigate through this tough world.
