Funded Sep 20, 2023Thank you so much for your kindness and your generosity. My students and I truly appreciate your support of our classroom. These donations will help with supplies for our cooking labs and help us keep our kitchen stations clean and prepped. Funded Aug 9, 2022Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom. The new cookbooks have given students the opportunity to search for new recipes and expand their choices of recipes. They are able to use the cookbooks to plan labs and activities for our class projects. They can also search for new recipes to try at home and to find foods that they may like to make.
Having an active culinary class teaches students so many skills. Students practice math through measuring, science while creating mixtures and baking, nutrition while planning menus and meals and so much more. Culinary class offers the students the chance to learn real life skills that they will take with them for the future.
Thank you for your generosity and for donating to our class. My students are working hard and growing as chefs thanks to your donations.”

Funded Aug 13, 2020Thank you so much for your donation to our athletic program. We were so excited to find out we were funded, and even more so when the equipment arrived. The basketballs, volleyballs and badminton equipment will give our athletic program some much needed supplies to keep going. Offering these programs to our students will offer them the chance to exercise, play and lean to work with others. There are so many benefits that sports offer our students and we are happy to have the equipment needed to do so.
Due to COVID 19, We are currently not able to offer our students with after school sports. Our schools are not open to full capacity and the majority of our students are engaged in distance learning. As a teacher and a coach we are working within the the constraints presented and hope for the chance for our students to once again have a full range of programs available.
COVID 19 and quarantine have posed unique challenges for those of us who work as educators. We have been faced with a constantly changing situation and numerous obstacles. We all look forward to the moment when we can return to school as usual with academic programs and activities the way we have been used to. In the meantime it is inspiring to know that so many are supportive of our schools and our students. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. Donors like you touch the lives of so many students and impact them in such a special way.”

Funded Oct 16, 2019I am so thankful for your support of our dance program. At a time when funding for schools is so difficult to come by it is nice to be able to get the things that are needed for the classroom. Your generosity is truly something special and means a great deal to me and to my students.
Currently, my dancers are using the iPad Pro tand the Apple pencilo rehearse and prepare for our upcoming performances. They are very excited to have this upcoming performance and having this technology gives us a little more flexibility in being able to prepare. We are able to run the music for both large and small groups with it and also video the choreography so that students can make corrections. The printer is helping them create some of the items like programs and signs needed for our show.
Dancing is something that is learned through experience. Students have to work at it to learn and to improve. Having these materials in our classroom allows us to practice in different ways. Whether in a large group lead by the teacher or in a peer group. The students are able to rehearse, correct and create and this is making them better dancers.”

Funded Jan 25, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donation to our dance classroom. As technology has evolved it has changed the way we use music in the dance class. Over the years my students and I have been working to adapt to the changes in music and media. We now have to use computers to download, edit and even playback music. Having a new MacBook provided by your donation has been a huge help in keeping our class up to date. Using the computer has given my students the opportunity to download, edit and create new music for our dances. This gives them the opportunity to truly be an artist when creating their dances. They now are able to create all aspects of the dance and not only the movement.
Because of limited funding the technology that we had prior to this was very outdated. It made it hard and sometimes impossible for the students to create their mixes and edit their music. Having a new computer has been an exciting change. They are able to work with each other and create the music they want for their dance.
My advanced students have been the ones that are the most impacted by this donation. They immediately began working on group projects and using the computer and the software to make their music edits. They used the new computer to create the music edits for a show piece for the school board and Superintendent. Currently they are working on music for our end of the year recital. This gift is helping our class stay up to date with technology and added a new element to our choreography. We are all so grateful for your donation. My students and I are so thankful for the donation and we appreciate your support of our classroom.”

Funded Oct 24, 2018Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom. We were so excited to find out we were funded and even more so when the Bosu balls arrived. To start off with, they are bright pink and BEAUTIFUL! We were quick to inflate them and set them up so that we could begin using them in our class. The students have been so excited to use the Bosu balls in class. Most of them had never seen one and much less had an opportunity to use one in a dance class.
We have been working on balance in our pirouettes so they couldn't have arrived at a more perfect time! As you can see in the photos the students work on balancing in passé on the Bosu balls. This has helped my students immensely. They struggled at first to balance on the ball on one leg, but what is happening is that once we transfer back to the floor they find it so much easier. We use the balls in conjunction with yoga blocks so that they balance on different surfaces and can really focus on their control.
As a teacher I sometimes struggle to find ways to help students learn different concepts. As a dance teacher I have the added challenge of not only helping them understand but also to be able to produce specific movements on their own. It is a challenge, but it is one that I love. The students I teach do not have the resources to pay for outside dance classes. The fact that they can participate in our program free of charge is huge to their families. I try every day to give them as much as possible so that they can truly be a part of a quality dance program. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. Donors like you touch the lives of so many students and impact them in such a special way.”
