  • Two Screens

    Funded Mar 9, 2021

Your generous donation to this project was greatly appreciated. When schools were closed and learning had to shift to being remote. I had to quickly learn about technology and how to create a learning environment for my students from my own home.

One of the problems that I was encountering was how to share my screen but at the same time still maintain the ability to see my students. This is when I learned about the benefits of having a second screen.

The second screen allowed me to quickly and efficiently share my presentation and documents with my students but also observe if they were attending to the lesson.

I was able to address students who got distracted and encourage more participation in class.

Having a second screen positively impacted my students' learning. Definitely two screens is better than one!”

  • It's Craft Time!

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

I appreciate your generosity in providing all the wonderful materials for this project. My students were amazed with all the projects that we had this year.

One of the memorable projects that we created was the suncatcher activity. My students and their parents completed the suncatcher on zoom during our Open House event. The students were given step by step instructions on how to create their suncatchers. After completing their suncatchers, my students and their parent created a short Google document and/or Jamboard documenting the experience.

The parents and students appreciated the experience to build a project together.”

  • Magnetic Math

    Funded May 7, 2021

Thank you for your generosity in funding this project. The Giant Magnetic Visual Models Chart has been a great math tool in helping students compose and decompose numbers using number bonds. We are able to work on a target number every day and with continued practice my students have been able to create their own number bonds.

The Building Math Skills Write Wipe Boards have also allowed my students to practice adding or subtracting amounts. The students use their fingers to count on or count back to arrive to the answer. We also use whiteboard markers and fill in the number line in order to gain an understanding of number order.

These resources have been an asset in helping my first graders become independent in learning and enjoying math.”
