The Elgin High School Band program is currently serving the Elgin Public Schools and it's students. This program serves a vital role in the school and community through music education. Performing in a musical ensemble is a very valuable educational experience. Not only do we all have a need for music as people, we can appreciate the art of music with more depth if we have performed in an ensemble. The quality of the ensemble that we participate in will greatly influence our experience and perception of music through our lifetime. By providing a number of settings for students to develop both their own instrumental skill and that of an ensemble member, the Elgin Band department is striving to provide it's students with a quality music education experience dedicated to the development of basic musicianship, teamwork, camaraderie, discipline, and dedication.
