A Comfy Place for a Bookworm.
Funded Oct 1, 2018The students absolutely love the new couch and comfy, colorful cushions in our reading corner. When the new furniture arrived there was a mad dash for the students to grab a book and take a seat on the couch or cushion. Now there is plenty of room for more students to be in this area and enjoy a good book. The new furniture has given my reading corner a beautiful new look that is very inviting for my kindergarten students.
The reading corner is an area of the room that is used throughout the entire day. Students choose to go there during a choice time when they can go to any center in the room (blocks, sand table, painting, etc.). The students also sit on the couch to listen to a story on the iPad during reading workshop. When students complete work early, they look at a book in the reading corner while they wait for the next lesson to begin. The reading corner is the most used center in my classroom. I'm glad they have comfortable place to sit and read.
I would like you all to know that your generosity and kindness is much appreciated. The cost of this material would not have been possible without your support. Thank you very much for helping me fund this project. You have made many students in my current and future classes very happy.”

Our Kitchen Area Needs Updating
Funded Dec 31, 2013I can't begin to tell you how happy my students are with the new kitchen equipment. The refrigerator and cupboard are beautiful and well made. Their is plenty of shelf space to keep all of our play food, plates and pots and pans. It is wonderful to watch the students use their imagination and have fun in the house area.
Each day there is a mad dash to sign up for the house area. They are enjoying setting up the refrigerator and cupboard by creating labels and signs to help keep everything organized. They are learning to be responsible by respecting this new, expensive equipment so it will remain clean and new. One student commented, " This one is clean and shiny, and there is no tape holding the shelf on the cupboard like the old one." They are very excited to play in this area.
