Six Flags has a Career and Technology Day. During the day, there is a presentation showing the process for creating a roller coaster. They discuss the process for brainstorming the creation of new roller coasters. It will explain the math and physics that are used in fine-tuning the design of the roller coasters. After the presentation, the students will get an opportunity to ride the roller coasters. For many of my students, this will be the first opportunity to understand what being a mechanical engineer, computer engineer, or a civil engineer entails. These students want to go to college and have careers. However, field trips are often the only exposure they have to learn about different career options. In addition, they have worked really hard all year and deserve to have some fun!
