This project is about getting a classroom set of over-the-ear headphones and computer mice. It is innovative because it allows the instructor to teach the lesson via pre-recorded videos and answer questions that may arise as the students work. This also allows students to work at their own pace and revisit a concept in the video by simply rewinding it. A classroom set of computer mice will allow students to learn how to use a computer mouse properly instead of relying on their Chromebook trackpads. Knowing how to use a computer mouse is important in learning how to be technologically literate. Students do not have earphones that plug into their Chromebooks, only their phones, nor do they have anything other than their Chromebook's trackpad. And with iPhones (the most popular smartphone teenagers own) having recently removed their audio jack and replaced it with a one-for-all plug for both headphones and chargers, students who may have their own headphones either have wireless or phone-specific headphones. By having a classroom set of headphones, each student will have a pair of headphones to use during class. By having a classroom set of computer mice, each student will be able to learn computer skills properly and successfully. As an electives teacher for the high school, I interact with 125-150 students daily. This is the first year that I am not teaching computer classes in a computer lab. Because of this, my students are at a disadvantage because they do not get to use the classic computer keyboards and mice of a computer lab.
