  • Values Matter

    Funded Oct 4, 2021

Thank you so much for making a difference in my student's lives. Donors like you help students not only academically, but also their social-emotional needs. Further, students learn the importance of "paying it forward."

Character education and values is more important now with the COVID_19 crises more than ever.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hewitt

  • Mental Health Needs During Distance Learning.

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

What a difference you have made in my students' lives. The Alexa Show allows my students to view and practice breathing exercises while following CDC guidelines. Students get so excited.

I am able to add to my calendar with Alexa and maintain everything in sync with the Alexa compatible computer. Resources are easy to display on Alexa from my computer. Parents can view meeting forms from a distance while I am working on the laptop.

I can't thank you enough! You have made this very difficult year easier!

I am so thrilled to share with you the positive impact you provided all 900 students at our school.

Your gift of books on character education, positive affirmation statement t-shirts, and supplies to teach students values in the classroom are truly tools that will shape tomorrow's leaders.

Through values lessons and your help, students will be instilled with the importance of showing respect, responsibility, citizenship, fairness, pursuit of excellence, kindness, cooperation, honesty and integrity.”

  • Inspiring Tomorrow's Leaders!

    Funded Oct 23, 2017

I would like to thank you on behalf of my entire school for your generous donation. With your help, I was able to send the message of "say No to Drugs". to over 900 children. We held a Red Ribbon Week for the students where they received stickers, pins, and poster materials to promote this important message. Further, the autism rubber bracelets and inspirational bulletin board materials will encourage acceptance and inclusion for all students. Finally, The T-shirts with positive messages for the counselors promote reaching out to all our students.”

  • Opening the World for Tomorrow's Problem Solvers

    Funded Jan 10, 2017

Alexa has been a great hit in our classroom. It is an active part of our everyday activities, from research to problem solving, we use it daily. Even minor things make a difference with Alexa. Timing test, upbeat music, whether and trivia are now part of our daily activities. I only wish I had one for every group!!!

Alexa has certainly brought our class to the future. It allows me to be more of a guide in my class instead of the Sage on the Stage. I can not thank you enough for all your help!!!

  • Opening the World for Tomorrow's Problem Solvers

    Funded Aug 23, 2015

The digital world has just opened up for my student! We use your generous gift each and every day when using the smart board, creating digital slide shows, researching, and collection of data.

The visual images we are able to see in the new Mac Book Pro are like no other we have seen in our classroom. For most of my students, it is far better then any they have seen before. Your gift has closed the digital divide for many of my students.

I don't know if it is the students or I that is the most excited to hurry and start our window to the world with our new Mac Book Pro. On behalf of my students, and the many students I will have in the future, THANK YOU!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hewitt

  • Opening the World for Tomorrow's Problem Solvers

    Funded Apr 9, 2015

I cannot even begin to express the wonderful time we had at Epcot this last May. It will be a trip that will live in my students memories for the rest of their lives.

The students were able to enhance what they have been learning about other cultures in my classroom and easily make the connections to each country we came across as we traveled the "World Showcase."

We finished the day by meeting by the lake and watching the most spectacular firework display I have ever seen.

Thank you for making our dreams come true!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hewitt

  • Real World Science

    Funded Nov 14, 2013

Your donation has shaped my class curriculum. It has allowed my students to process information with the help of technology in many new ways. Looking back, I have seen that what my students have enjoyed creating in our classroom most are the paper sideshow videos. In groups students work together cooperatively to create their own production to teach difficult science concepts. The pictures I have included demonstrate one group that through, paper, clay, and your generous donation made a short video production explaining how high and low tides are formed. This concept is difficult for student to understand. But by videotaping it with the RTI Surface students were able to take ownership in their learning, and now be the leader in guiding other students in understanding this concept.

This is but one example of how your donation has changed the way students of tomorrow will shape the future.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hewitt

My students consist of mostly immigrant children. I have one ESE classroom, one Gifted, and two general education classroom of mostly ESOL students. Our school is a Title I school, made up of mostly low income families. Most rent within the community, and mostly come from single family homes. In the past I have only worked with the Gifted children. This year is especially challenging to me due to the diversity of my students. The gifted students in my class have scored extremely well in science throughout my career. Our school decided to allow me to work with the entire 5th grade school population in hopes of waking a love for science in all our students. I have found a profound need for these students to have someone believe in them. We have worked so hard in teaching them the basics in reading and math, their weaknesses, that they have not explored the world around them. Science and technology has opened up a new path of learning that they are able to succeed in.
