  • Calling All Crayons!

    Funded May 17, 2011

Thank you for your generous donation of brand new Crayola crayons. Already they are such an asset to my classroom. The students have used these crayons numerous times in various subjects such as writing, math, and science. When the students first saw the box of crayons, they were so excited to get coloring. When we do math activities like fractions and we need to work with just one color crayon, all I have to do is go to the box of crayons instead of searching through bags and bags of old crayons for 21 of the same color. Having this box of crayons is not only a way for the students to express themselves through art but it is also a huge time saver since the box of crayons is already separated into colors and we don't have to rummage through to find the colors we are looking for. Thank you again for your generous donation. It is greatly appreciated. ”

  • Click That Camera and Print Those Pictures!

    Funded Jan 11, 2011

Thank you greatly for donating to Click That Camera and Print Those Pictures!, My students and I are so grateful to have donors like you to help me make a difference in our classroom. So far, we have taken pictures of so many things around the classroom. For starters, we planted beans a few weeks ago and the pictures are proof of the wonderful progression the plants are making. In addition to that, we have also taken pictures of us doing various art, science, and math activities.

The students love to see themselves in pictures. In addition, they love snapping picture of their classmates. The pictures are a great segway into a new topic or lesson. They remember previous lessons a little better when they are able to refer to pictures of them doing a certain activity. Thank you again for the gift of pictures. ”

  • La La Leveled Books for First Grade

    Funded Dec 31, 2010

Thank you for the wonderful leveled library. My students have been reading these new books for a few weeks now and are raving about how much they love them. Already, I have a handful of children that went up in a reading level. The new books were just what they needed to get them reading. They felt special that they had a brand new book to read and explore.

The parents of my students have also shown appreciation for these new books. They tell me that when the children take these books home with them to read, they are reading for the required time because they want to, not because they have to.

These books are such an asset to my classroom. My students and I are grateful that we have donors like you to make our library come alive with new books to read. Nothing beats the smell, look, and feel of a new book. Adults and children alike can agree to that.

Thank you again for giving my students the chance to have brand new books added to their classroom library.”

Thank you very much for your generous donation. The wipe-off board is greatly appreciated. The children and myself look forward to the many activities we can do with it. I have so many things planned that call for the use of the wipe off board. I'm very excited to have this new piece of useful furniture in my classroom.

Thank you so much for your generous contribution to my classroom. The books will be put to good use as soon as possible. I am very excited to share these stories with my students. I teach in a Title 1 school in Brooklyn, NY where almost 90% of the student population receive free lunch. I teach kindergarten. These students are so wonderful but unfortunately due to low income, they do not have access to a lot of new things. I'm hoping the donors of Donors Choose will help me out with that.
