As an ESL (English as a second language) teacher, I see students who are learning English at school and return home to a Spanish speaking environment. While trying to "bridge the gap" many of my students have expressed a desire to teach their parents how to read and speak English. Bilingual books are a perfect way to, not only, help the students teach their parents but also to bring families together and learn. Bilingual books will also help the parents teach their children Spanish in a more relaxed setting; many of my students can't read their parent's native language.
