Virtual Microscopes for Davis Middle

This year has been full of ups and downs. I want to thank you for contributing for one of the "ups" in my year. The receiving of these virtual microscopes gave back a piece of the 6th grade science experience to my students when they have missed out on so many other things. They allowed us to make the connection between 1 dimensional drawings of cells and steps of mitosis to seeing it in real life. These made the content in my science class so much more relevant and removed that abstract layer of not being able to see cells in real life.”

Microscopes are one of the best parts of science for students. As teachers we are pulling out every tool we can to keep our kids engaged and excited about science and school! There virtual microscopes will be shared among 10 science teachers and 3 grade levels. We will be observing a number of items on some amazing slides we already have for students. These will be applicable to multiple units for all three grade levels here at Davis. Thank you for your consideration in donating to our project and supporting virtual science.
