  • Mental Health Snacks for Extended Math Learning Blocks

    Funded Sep 29, 2024

    This donation has been wonderful for the students. For the past two months, students had snacks during our double period of afternoon math class. Students were more alert and eager to participate in class, and their spirits were uplifted when snacks were given.

    Most students rely on school lunches as their main meal for the day. We live in one of the poorest districts in the United States, and food insecurity runs rampant in this area. These snacks were name-brand treats that the students identified as being special treats that they were not accustomed to getting.

  • Clean Air For My Students

    I am so grateful that this project has been funded so quickly. With these uncertain times, it's assuring to know that the community has come together to help my students be in a safer learning environment. I'm not sure if anybody is ready to go back to school but I remind myself daily how important it is to have students back in the classroom, especially inner city students who needs extra supports to be college and career ready. With your contribution you have made it that much better for my students to learn safely.”

I want to have the best air filtration available to my students who will be in my room all day. Students will be engaging in project based learning in a socially distanced classroom that I will ensure is comfortable, safe, supportive and engaging. The safety of my students and their families is my top priority and having the best air filtration system available is something they should have. My classroom is a friendly and creative oasis of of learning. I want to continue to have a safe, comfortable and inspiring space that my students to look forward to coming to every day to learn.
